"I'm so nervous about this date." I said as I finished up doing my makeup.
"Don't be." My best friend, Janice, told me.
I turned to face her. "You're right, it's not like it's my first time stepping into a relationship."
"Yeah." Janice replied as she scrolled through her phone. "It's your second time."
"It's just.." I started. "I feel like Rocky's really special."
"Special? You haven't even had a proper conversation with him yet. He could be a complete asshole."
I sighed. "I really hope he isn't though."
"Well, either way, you've still got Brian." Janice added.
I gave her lopsided smile. "Brian's a celebrity. There's like a one in a million chance that I'm gonna even meet him somewhere where he doesn't have to act a certain way to please all of the fans."
Brian Kang was smart, talented, kind, and hella good-looking. He was the man of my dreams. Unfortunately, he was the man of a thousand other girls' dreams too because Brian was in a famous rock band in Korea called DAY6.
"Hey, you never know." Janice told me.
"I just don't think--" Suddenly, we heard someone knocking on our front door. "Oh my God." I squealed. "Rocky's here. How do I look?"
"You look great as always, Allison." Janice replied with a smile. "Have fun!"
I made my way to the front door and as I opened it, I saw him. His messy, dark brown, curly hair, and beautiful hazel green eyes. "Wow." Rocky smiled. "You look nice."
"Such a contrast compared to my outfits in class, right?" I smiled.
He shook his head. "Hey, I always thought you looked cute in your oversized hoodies."
As we got in his car, I felt Rocky staring at me. "So, what are our plans for tonight?"
"Well, if you don't have anything specific in mind, I was hoping we could go watch the new Thor movie." Rocky explained.
"Cool, I'm down." I smiled back.
We took a quick drive to the mall. "You're so lucky you live in Central Abbotsford." Rocky said. "Everything's so close by. Mission's a ghost town compared to here."
"Hey, but you guys have a lot of filmings." I told him.
"You really like movies, huh?"
I grinned back at him. "I love 'em."
"How about music?" Rocky asked as we queued up to buy popcorn.
"What about music?"
"What kind of music are you into?" He added.
I thought for a bit. "It's quite a mix, really. Depends a lot on my mood. But there is this one band I'm really into. They're a Korean pop rock band called DAY6."
"Hmm, interesting." He nodded. "I'll look into it."
"How about you?"
"I really like chill, acoustic songs." He replied.
"Oh, that's cool. I'll send you some of DAY6's acoustic songs, then."
He smiled. "I'm really curious about this DAY6 band you're talking about. Sounds like you're really into them."
"Don't even get me started."
We went into the cinema and sat down. "So, do you like Marvel movies?" Rocky asked.
"I like them a lot." I replied with a bright smile.
"Which one's your favourite?"
"Probably Civil War."
He gave me a bright-eyed look. "Me, too. I love Spider-man."
"Same." I smiled back. "I'm glad we like a lot of the same stuff."
Halfway into the movie, Rocky did this cheesy fake yawn thing where he put his arm over my shoulder. It was cheesy, but cute.
"That was such a good movie!" I exclaimed as we got out of the cinema.
"Right?" Rocky replied with the same amount of enthusiasm. "I'd go as far as say that it was better than Civil War."
"It doesn't have Spidey tho." I added.
He thought for a bit. "Yeah, you're right. Spidey trumps everything."
We ended up just walking around the mall a bit before Rocky drove me back home. "I had a really good time." I told him once we pulled up at the driveway.
"I did, too. I'd love it if we can do it again sometime." He leaned forward, so I leaned forward and gave him a soft kiss.
"Goodnight." Rocky added with a smile.
