She walked down the stairs in front of her room leading to the living room. Rubbing her eyes she sat in front of her mum in the dining table.
'Hon, I've got something to tell you.', her mother began, anxiety etched at every inch of her face.
'Sure, go ahead', she permitted, sipping orange juice, not caring to wonder what follows next.
'Okay', the middle-aged woman begins with a sigh. 'You know you're gonna spend three weeks of vacation alone and-'
'Oh c'mon mum no need to get sentimental. I know who I'm gonna spend my vacation with, me! Couldn't get better company, could I?' , she sarcastically jokes.
'Actually, you can. That's the reason I am now announcing this newly framed proposition. You're going to spend your vacations with, wait for it-' her mother flashes a convincing smile as she throws her hands in exasperation like a showstopper.

The words flowed out of the woman's mouth as if she just announced the winner of the lottery, or America's next top model.
She chokes on her drink, the orange ester intensifies at her throat as sugar rushes into her veins. 'Mum, in front of my juice!'

'No, I'm not. Look, his parents and I are going on a business trip to America, and we possibly can't leave you both alone.'
'So, the best option you could come up with was to get two hormonal teenagers to spend their precious vacation under the same roof? I'm proud of your parenting skills.'

'Couldn't they get a babysitter or something. They're rich! And, I'm trained to stay alone.'

'Oh, honey, the days are bad and both of you will become fast friends, if you come to think of it.'
Friends? She gawked at the seven-letter word elementary schoolers would speak everyday. She didn't comment further, for only if her mother knew that she could never be 'friends' with the boy called Kim Taehyung.
