"Melanie." I opened my eyes to see Elder Zee kneeling in front of me. "You need to wake up so I can

treat you before the meeting."

"Do I-"

"No, you don't have to go." I nodded a little and settled back into the bed. "You want to wake up Dylan

while I make this?" I nodded, not knowing if he could actually see it, and I nipped Dylan's arm a couple of times. He pulled his arm away from me and sighed before he wrapped his arm around me again.

"Morning." Dylan whispered and I just grabbed his hand through the blanket that was still over me as a

response.

"Dylan, we have a pack meeting today, so if you want to go home and change you should probably do it

now."

Dylan slowly sat up behind me and he yawned before speaking. "What about Melanie?"

"Carson will be coming over to keep an eye on her while we're at the meeting." Elder Zeke place the

same dish from yesterday in front of me with milky colored water in it again. I managed to sit up enough to drink from the dish. Carson is training to be the pack's medic for when Elder Zee decides to pass on and by decides, I literally mean decides. Elders have the choice of going through a ritual so they can live until they're ready to go or until they feel that their pack no longer needs them.

"Alright…" I felt Dylan look over at me as I continued to slowly drink from the dish. "I'll see you later

Melanie." Dylan petted my hair and I took a pause from drinking to press my head into his hand some more.

Dylan walked over to the door and opened it just as Carson arrived. They exchanged nods before they

traded sides of the door. "Carson! You got here sooner than I thought you would!" Elder Zee greeted his apprentice with a hug and a warm smile. "You remember everything that's needed for this kind of treatment?"

"Yes sir."

"Good boy." Elder Zee patted Carson's shoulder and smiled again. "Now, I already told you about the

silver wound she has in her ribs, but she also has a bite wound on her neck from a vampire drawing the memory out; we can't have that turning out nasty."

"Alright sir."

"That a boy! Melanie, I shall return as soon as the meeting ends." I nodded a little and kept the blanket

pulled up to my face. Carson started rummaging around the kitchen once Elder Zee was gone.

Carson is my age, but he doesn't really speak to anyone. Yes he does tag along with Jared and his pack

within the pack, but he never seems to get involved with them when they're being total fuck ups.

"Here you go, Ghost Wolf." He set a dish of what looked like wet dog food in front of me. "It's not gonna

taste very good and you don't wanna question what's in it." I pressed my face into the bed and groaned a little and Carson laughed before petting my head. That was another thing about Carson, he's never called me by my name, I've always been Ghost Wolf with him.

I held my hair back as I at the food like I would in wolf form and I scrunched up my nose as I started

eating it. "Make sure you eat all of it." I continued eating with my nose scrunched up until it was all gone. "Here," Carson wiped my mouth with a napkin and kind of laughed at me. "Messy, aren't you?" I licked my lips once he stood up and blushed a little. "So how well can you move on your own?"
