Diary,

Ugh. You would not believe what just happened. I started packing my bags to move all the way to Kansas! I've always thought that Kansas was all farmers and fields, but apparently we're going to live in the city. My friend, Cassandra [Cassy] came over today to give me a going-away present. And guess what? His name is Scruphy!! He is the cutest puppy ever! My mom said that he is a miniature schnauzer. He is darkish brown with little white spots all over his tiny tummy. Cassy says that she found him at a local shelter and convinced her parents (over the course of a week) to let her adopt him. When we got him, he was only 8 weeks old. Cassy and I exchanged emails since I don't have a phone yet.

I am very sad to be leaving my teachers. In the middle of the year, too! I barely got to finish the second quarter of the year and my parents told me "We're moving!" My new teacher's name is something weird, like, Mrs. Light? Lightner? I don't know. My school is gonna be completely different. And I hear they don't have as much time to eat lunch! Grr.

My sisters are't taking it any better than I am. Mara [Mars Bar or just Mars] punched a hole into her wall and Katy [Kat or Kit Kat] knocked over her desk. Big mess. Btw, Mars and Kat are twins. No, not identical. But it does mean that I have to sit through hours of attempts at twin telepathy and stupid stuff like that. I'm the youngest of the three of us, and it isn't always sunshine. They're 3 years older than me. Because the twins are always busy with school and stuff, they never have time to play. Besides, they don't like the same stuff I do. I made lots of friends here in Minnesota, but that took a long time. How many friends could I make in Kansas?

I can't believe we have to leave. We have a pretty big house, and we have a great yard. There's a lot of clutter though, and we're putting most of it in storage or sending it ahead of us. There is absolutely no reason to move. (Other than my dad's stupid new job.) Well, now I have to actually finish packing... I'll see you on the road I guess. On my way to Kansas...

[This is the beginning of 4th Grade Chronicles! I told you I would publish something today! This entire book will be edited after I complete it. So if you are reading this in the future, and you read faster than I can edit, some things might change in the middle. (There will probably be a note if something will be different!) I will probably only work on this book for a while. This book series will be written as if it is Violet's diary. My notes within the book will be written in [brackets] Please vote, comment, and whatever else! Thanks for listening to me ramble; have a nice time reading!]
