Every once in a while I look back and I think,
Of the times when I was young.
The days when the sun was not to be feared,
But a reminder of when it was okay to play.
When children would ride on their bikes in the streets,
And not have to worry if It's safe or not.
I miss those days from when I was young,
When friendship was treasured and no one got hurt.
I often remember the days I had school,
What is was like to learn something new.
I'm so glad I grew up with siblings who cared,
All the adventures we went on together.
A movie was viewed as a magical thing,
Not just something that is a daily routine.
Going out for dinner was a special treat,
Home cooked meals were the normal thing.
Grazing your knee was a sign you had fun,
But seeing the doctor felt like the worst thing.
Staying up late was a weekend thing,
And visiting nana was my most favourite thing.
Oh how I miss those days when I was young,
They'll always be a reminder of a life of that was fun,
I'll never forget the days when I was young,
I suppose it's different though for everyone.
