"Oh snap!" Ayaka raced to the other aisle and found a wailing Nana. She furiously shook her small shoulders and turned her around. "What's up with you?!"

Nana smirked at her sister, making her face burn red.

"Is everything okay over there?" Asked a female voice, who was apparently heading their way. The shop-keeper, it had to be, there was barely any other people in there.

Nana opened her mouth wide, as if threatening to wail again, but Ayaka clapped a hand over her that big mouth of hers, keeping it shut. "We're just fine!" She called, hearing footsteps coming closer and closer.

Just as the shopkeeper was about to approach them,a candy bar fell out of Ayaka's pocket. She hurriedly bent down, snatched it up, shoved it back into her pocket, and zipped her pockets up.

The lady peered around the aisle they were in, her face showing an expression of concern and suspicion once she saw them. Ayaka behind a smiling Nana while slightly pinching her little sister's back as a warning.

"We're okay, nothing to worry about." Ayaka tried to reassure her.

"Okay," The shopkeeper said, convinced. "You need help with somethin'?" The two shook their head, and she finally left.

"NANA!" Ayaka screeched, not caring who heard her. Nana flinched and tried to run away, but her sister grabbed her wrist and yanked her back. If she wasn't angry, she probably wouldn't have done that.

"What's wrong with you?!" Ayaka snapped, enraged. "You've been nothing but trouble lately!" Nana struggled to get out of her grip, but her sister was too strong for her. She looked up to find two piercing green eyes glaring at her, she could've sworn fire was brewing in them! She looked away.

"Do you want us you get caught?" She hissed just below a whisper. She sighed heavily when there was no answer, "Why don't you just wait outside?" With that she stomped away.

Nana watched as she disappeared with glassy eyes before storming out of the store by herself. The cold night air instantly hit her, and she hugged herself. She watched the cars zoom by on the streets that were alight with the glow of lampposts. This reminded her of when her mother always took a walk around the city when she was upset or angry, and just needed to think for a while. She'd asked to tag along once, but her mother refused, she had said she wanted to be alone for a bit.

"I'll just take a little walk." Nana said to herself. "Just one little walk, a short one, too. Just around the corner or something." She walked out of the small parking lot and headed towards the sidewalk far ahead.

Ayaka kept breathing in and out, in, and out. She kept thinking back to the way Nana was acting and she was still angry at her. She shoved one last candy bar in her jacket before heading towards the door.

Nana kept skipping around, a large smile on her face. She'd never been this alone before! She felt like an adult, and she was filled with a giddy feeling that made her heart flutter and fuel her energy. She was having the most fun she had in a long while!

The streets were beginning to get deserted, just her treat! No one to look at her with a concerned and confused expression, no one to ask where her parents were! She stopped and admired the city lights, buildings, and empty streets. She then looked behind her.

Wait, where was the little store she left from a minute ago?! Or...was it really a minute ago...? How long had she been by herself, skipping around aimlessly? Turning streets after saying she'd only be walking past one block?
