Scott slides the lock out, lifting up the latch and slowly opens the lid. Looking inside, I gasp at the sight of the random claw marks made by, whom I'm assuming to be, Isaac. His father must have locked him inside of this thing, and I can't even think straight at the sight of it. I don't know what to think other than wanting to bring Isaac's father back from the dead just to kill him again myself.
"This is why he said yes to you," Scott states with pity in his eyes after taking everything in and sliding his own fingertips over the claw marks.
"Everyone wants power."
"If we help you. Then you have to stop," Scott demands, giving Derek an ultimatum. "You can't just go around, turning people into werewolves."
"I can if their willing," Derek shoots back. And he has a point. Isaac was willing to go through with this, and with great reason. It's their choice to determine what they want to do with their life.
"Did you tell Isaac about the Argent's? About being hunted?" Scott asks, making my head jerk in Derek's direction. He stares into my eyes with no emotion, waiting for my outburst of questions about these Argent's Scott just mentioned. It's like I have to question him everyday or something just so I can stay in the loop of things. I am going to need to start compelling him for information.
"About who?" I ask accusingly. So he lied when I asked him about there being a catch and he probably didn't even tell Isaac either. Or just waited for when I wasn't around.
I can't believe this whole time that I've been keeping an eye on Isaac and Jackass, other things have been going on under my nose and Derek never told me about it. I know him and I aren't close, but I'm here now and I've been helping him with his pack. I deserve to know what is happening in this town and I have earned that right.
Derek continues to stare at me, and when I come to the conclusion he isn't going to answer me, I leave the room, going upstairs to wait as I eavesdrop in on the rest of the conversation. Not only did I just learn about supernatural hunters, I learned that Scott is dating one. And in my opinion is a foolish act on his part. But his funeral.
With them being alone downstairs, Derek used his time wisely in convincing Scott to join his pack. However, he failed.
The only positive outcome that came from our pit stop is that Scott did agree to helping us with Isaac. He explained that he felt like Isaac is his responsibility and in a way, I relate to that. Isaac is supposed to be Derek's responsibility, but I don't trust him. And from the looks of it, Scott doesn't either.
As they make their way upstairs, Scott's phone begins to ring once they join me. When Scott answers the call Stiles' rambling about a man dressed as a deputy on his way to kill Isaac with wolfsbane catches my attention. No surprise when he informs us the man works with the Argents.
At the mention of them, I look over at Derek, still pissed that he never enlightened me on what I had gotten myself into. I can't yell at him now, though. I have to keep my focus on Isaac to help keep myself from lashing out and doing something foolish. I'll wait for when Derek and I are alone to bring it up. I'm going to make him tell me everything that he has been keeping from me.
Ten minutes after their phone call, Stiles had shown up to take Derek and I to the station while Scott stayed behind because the full moon is still affecting him and he hasn't learned full control yet. But if the moon was starting to affect him now, that means we don't have much time left to help Isaac.
✵ ✵ ✵ ✵ ✵
"So what's the plan?" I ask as Stiles parks his crappy jeep outside of the station.
"Okay, the keys to every cellar are in a password protected lock box in my fathers office. Problem is getting past the front desk," Stiles answers pointing at a women through one of the building windows.
