Poisoned Prose

Objectification pt. 1

Window
basically a giant hole
in the side of a wall
we have in order to
clear a stuffy room
but we leave closed most of the time.
isn't a closed window like a caged bird?
we loved to watch birds fly around in nature
but we cage them anyways
only so we can hear them
sing at our leisure 
windows exist to be opened and let cool air in
but instead we leave them shut
and remark on how pretty sunlight looks
when it streams through.
when we forget to let
things be free,
we focus on only one aspect of their beauty
and forget about the rest.
