I was just getting ready to watch Andi Mack when my phone rang.
"Hello". I ask.
"Are you forgetting something special". The voice ask.
"No". I say awarkdly. "Who is this".
"John". He says, I could picture him feigning hurt.
"Oh, hey". I laugh. "What am I forgetting".
"You're birthday, silly". He says.
"Oh, yeah". I say. "What about it".
"Got any plans". He asks.
"No. Why". I say icily.
"Can I take you out". John ask.
"Like....on a date". He says.
"It could be. We can just sit on the couch, eat pizza and watch Andi Mack". He asks.
"Sure". I say calmly.
"Cool. See you in a hour". He says.
"Okay". I smile and hang up the phone.
What am I going to wear? I run to my closet and pull out a white shirt and some skinny jeans. My hair. I run into the rest room and tied my hair into a short ponytail.
I hoped I looked stunning in the outfit. Then, I remembered I was on punishment. As if on cue, Mom walks in. "Hey honey, the family is going somewhere. And you're not invited". She says. You might think that's rude but that's perfectly fine with me. "Cool". I say. This isn't the first time and it won't be the last.
