" Aye justin take a break from the drill real quick , I need to speak to you in my office" Coach Watson said as I was practicing my free throws.
" what's up coach ? What's going on ?" I said wondering what he wanted.
See the thing with coach is , he been in this game a longggg time man. With all the star athletes that has came through this school. & all the scholarships & recognition that he was able to help players get.... He always made sure that he got something in return. Which was the only bad thing about him.
" First off , I just wanted to tell you that you're really killing it this season. Your starting to gather a lot of attention from theses schools . I mean I got Duke , Baylor , Oregon universities all getting ready to offer you a scholarship. Because they are loving what they are seeing from you on the court" he said

All I could of when I heard the word Duke come out his mouth was damn that's a dream come true. My favorite college , offering me a scholarship ? I mean that's a easy decision and done deal right there once I receive the scholarship in the mail... but I just knew there was a catch somewhere.
He continued to say " But man I'm going to be honest with me . Because I care about you as a player . I got Univ of North Carolina calling me wanting to give you a full scholarship right now! Now I know you hate North Carolina because that is Duke rivals & all. But check this out they are also offering to give you and family $50,000 for the first semester & then a additional $75,000 during your second semester there just for signing with them. I know what your thinking that's against the UIL rules and I could get in a lot of trouble for taking that . But think about your mom in this case . How bad she has struggled to raise you and how much of blessing this would be for her man . We're talking $125,000 all together if you just commit to that school. Not to mention all the free shit you get & the unlimited amount of females being thrown your way"
I ain't going to lie it did sound good ! But damn why North Carolina of all schools ? But the fact that they are offering that much cash just to play there 1 year ? All that money I could provide my mama so she doesn't have to struggle ? I mean that's a hard choice to give up but I don't want to risk the chance of getting caught up with the UIL & possibly ruin a lot of things & bringing that extra drama in my mama life though.
" I me.. mean coach that do sound good & all but did you think about the consequences that follows this. I just want to play ball , without having to worry about this & that . You know what I mean ? Why can't I just play for a school of my choice ?" I said hesitantly
" Yeah I mean the only way you get caught up is if someone say something. & I'm the only that knows , so there shouldn't be anything to worry about bud. The only thing I ask for is 10% of the cash from the college . & free tickets to your NBA games while still getting paid while your a professional athlete. But the choice is yours to play for what college you want , but I would hate for people to find out the steroids you've taken to get the body you have now & skills you picked up . Not to mention the money & sponsorships you have already taken under the table while being high school athlete . But just think about it for me will you ?" He said with a smirk.
