Paper words

Paper words are words that do not need to be spoken at all, words that exist to fill the silence and disappear into thin air as soon as they have been told.
They kill the tranquil beast of peaceful quietness and aid the vicious shadow of uncomfortable  silence.
They are a requirement of polite conversation that results more often than not in inane chatter.
How meaningful would our conversations be if we burned to ashes all of those paper words!
But sparks that can start such a fire are hard to find, and we have to content ourselves with crumpling those thin, thin words into small bundles, and smooth out the wrinkles when the time comes to talk with nothing to say.
