It was finally the weekend, and the Losers Club ventured out into the woods to play hide and seek. After a round of eenie-meenie-miney-mo, Beverly was chosen to be the seeker.

"I'm giving you all a minute to hide. Go!" she yelled out to the boys as they went their separate ways.

Glancing back as he ran, Richie tripped on a rock and stumbled onto the ground, causing his glasses to fall off and blend in with the autumn leaves.

"Fuck," he grunted, frantically searching his surroundings. Eddie turned after hearing the noise to see his best friend on the ground.

"Richie!" Eddie whisper-yelled, rushing to his side. He got the memo that Richie's glasses were lost by his helplessly blind searching and helped rummage through leaves to recover his oversize frames.

"Found them," he announced, holding them up as he looked up at Richie.

God, his eyes were gorgeous.

The way the sun illuminated the deep brown orbs made Eddie nearly melt. How could he not have noticed earlier? Probably because they'd been hidden behind Richie's ridiculously large glasses since before Eddie could remember.

Eddie quickly realized he'd been staring and snapped out of his daze to help Richie up, standing on his tip toes and sliding the glasses back onto his face. He couldn't help but notice Richie's cheeks redden a bit.

Thirty seconds left to hide.

"Oh shit, come on!" Richie said, grabbing Eddie's hand and pulling him along to find someplace to hide. They didn't have much time.

"Just get back here with me, okay?" Eddie nodded as they stepped behind a large tree. Richie noticed that Eddie hadn't let his hand go, but he wasn't complaining.

"It might not be the best spot, but if we line up like this-" Richie stepped behind Eddie. "-we shouldn't be seen." Richie wrapped his arms around Eddie's waist and placed his chin on Eddie's head, smiling at the height difference.

"Y-yeah," Eddie replied, accepting his hands in his and trying to keep his cool.

After a few moments of lingering in the embrace, Richie spoke up. "Eds?"

"You know I don't like when you call me that," Eddie giggled, turning around to face the taller boy.

"Look, I don't know how to say this but... I think I like you. Like, more than a friend," Richie confessed, feeling his heart race faster.

Now that they were only inches apart, Richie really got to see Eddie up close. His chestnut hair so smooth, his lips so pink, and his freckles so cute. Of course he'd stared at him before at school, but this was different.

After a few seconds of silence, Eddie opened his mouth to speak. Richie couldn't wait any longer and took advantage of the moment, pressing his lips onto Eddie's as his hands cupped his face.

To his happy surprise, Eddie kissed back, their soft lips colliding. It was a feeling that neither of them had experienced before, the sensation coursing through their bodies and filling them with euphoria. Everything felt so perfect in the moment that neither of them heard the footsteps approaching them.

"Found you guys!" Beverly yelled, spotting two figures. Upon closer inspection, Beverly gasped and the two jumped away to face her, flustered.

"Oh, uh..." Richie and Eddie blushed, embarrassed to be caught in such a moment. Beverly's blue eyes only widened more at the realization.

"REDDIE IS REAL! IT'S REALLLLL!" Beverly yelled wildly as she ran back to the rest of the group to share the news. Richie and Eddie were slightly confused but not exactly surprised at the girl's reaction - she'd been wanting them to express their feelings for each other ever since she joined their friend group.

The two boys were left standing there in both awe and embarrassment. "Well, what I meant to say was... I like you too, Rich." Eddie said softly. Richie's face lit up and his lips curved into a grin.

"Aww Kaspbrak, you like meeeee," he teased, elbowing his side.

"Shut up, Tozier." Eddie rolled his eyes and pulled him in by his collar for another kiss.
