A.N.: Special thanks to ShuhDurrUh for pushing me to write this again!~

But sadly this is not a collab anymore since my collab mate doesn't live near me again. Homestly I have a lot of ideas, but I've just been slacky (( That's a word I assure you. xD )) as of late.

With that all said... COMMENCE CHAPTER DUOS.

I snarled in disgust as the body flopped lifelessly onto the floor. Another waste of a bullet. I ran my left hand through my curls as my right held onto the gun with a deathgrip. I would never actually get use to killing these things, nor seeing the rotten walk around, though I was taking it better than some did.. So I had to give myself some credit. I then lowered my hand from my hair and raised my gun, holding my left under the handle before ejecting the clip to check how many bullets I had left, to be met with only one. I gave a breathy growl before sliding the clip back in, the satisfying click ensuring me that it was secured in it's rightful spot. I finally cocked back the gun, to get the final bullet into the chamber, before clipping on the safety and tucking the gun into the back of my pants. I glanced around the room to meet a bed to my left, a drawer to my right. Then at the foot end of the bed was a wardrobe, and beyond that on the far wall was a cluttered desk. I quickly started the search, for we didn't have time to doddle, beginning with the drawers right next to me.

"Goodmornin' Courtney," I greeted as I stretched my arms over my head, moaning in contentment when I heard the satisfying pop of my back and shoulders, as Courtney growled back her hello for the sunny morning. I tried my best to avoid Courtney's gaze as her groans continued to intensify. "I know, I know, you're hungry. I gotcha. I'll go to the store or something and clean out for you okay? Just.. Wait a bit." With that order I walked to the couch, still avoiding eye contact with her in any way. I took a seat with a huff, looking at all the cans upon cans of coke. My hand ran through my dark hair as I looked down at them, knowing that even though I hated the thought of it.. I would need something stronger soon..

l closed the first topmost drawer, and slid the second one open, trying to be quiet yet quick at the same time. As I started checking the drawer for anything hiding under the clothes inside, I heard a series of fumbles coming from the wardrobe. My head snapped over immediately.

I couldn't help but hum the lullaby that always use to calm Courtney down, but of course my efforts were in vain. She would only continue to go on and on. I started to rub my temples, frustration boiling in me already, as my humming became uneven, the rhythm faltering.

I took a sidestep towards the wardrobe, hoping that I really wouldn't have to waste my last bullet, though I still pulled my gun out from my pants, holding it up by my face, my hands overlapping one another and my arms folding. I took that final step that pushed me closer to whatever was hiding. My heart started throbbing with nervousness and anticipation.

I then turned on the tv quickly, cranking it up to drown out Courtney, as if she was a child crying because she didn't get her way. But of course, the same taunting news was on.

"Ray Narvaez Jr., 15 year old puerto rican teen,"

"25.. Today makes it 25.." I corrected the news lady as I sat back, watching the news inform me about myself.

I grabbed onto the small handle of the door, correcting my footing for a moment, then taking a deep breath. My face hardened and so did my grip on the door, as I swung it open.

"But he refused, calling the scientists sick." The woman stated my obvious error and I couldn't help but clench onto my shorts, my knuckles quickly turning a pale white as my shorts bunched in my hands. Tears swelled up in my eyes as Courtney's groans were getting to much. They were driving me crazy, and that's when I made the mistake. I swung my head to her and started shouting for her to shut up, but immediately as my gaze hit her, I was struck with fear and sadness.

Half her face turning into a sickly rotting flesh, the other half pale with a green spot on her check, showing the other side of her face was going to deteriorate soon as well. She was chained around her neck, wrists, and legs, but as she stood now, like a dog on all four legs, I couldn't help but feel like a monster. She was only wearing a bra and underwear, so I got the full view of her pale, rotting, and tearjerking state.

"Please don't shoot! I, I'm not infected.. I s-swear.." I was met with an accent that threw me back some. The man was in a bad state, that was for sure. He looked too skinny to be healthy, his hair was matted, dirt clung to him, he smelt bad.. Really bad.. The man obviously wasn't a zombie yet.. As for infected..

"Show me your arms! Legs!" I shouted, keeping my gun raised. The man whimpered as he nodded, tears streaking down his dirt ridden face. He followed my orders though, rolling up his sleeves and showing me his arms. Clean. Well, from bites that was. He then went to his pants, rolling them as far up as jeans would allow. Also clean. Only then did I lower my gun.

               "Alright.. What's your name boy?"

"G-Gavin," He responded with a deep inhale, trying to calm himself.

"Alright G-Gavin," I mocked his stutter, trying to somewhat lighten the mood. "Names Michael. Nice to meet your acquaintance." I greeted with a half forced grin.

He started to cough harshly and immediately I narrowed my eyes at him. Was he really.. Clean? He finished his fit after a moment, returning the grin and muttering a response that I didn't quite catch.

"Now, sorry for this." The man's eyebrows furrowed at this last statement, but before he could ask why I was saying sorry, I flipped my gun around, grabbing the barrel. I then took a quick step forward before slamming the handle down on his head. I stepped back as the man went limp. And with a final groan, I called to my partner.

"We have a survivor! Clean! I'm carryin' him."

Tears let go and streaked down my face as I stumbled back from her, crawling away to the farthest corner and cowering from the monster I made her. As the tv still taunted.

"We need someone to rally this man in for experiments, or he will damn us all."

Quick note for those that were confused, italics are Ray, non is Michael from previous chapter, next chapter things will go back to normal, I just want to introduce Ray, for he is a main character in this. And I mean main. <3
