"Kai, there is no other way.. This is what I want.. You don't have to come if you don't want to, but I'm going with Michi.. I really just want my identity back.." Ein speaks up, looking at me.
My eyes softened. "If you're going, then I'm going, there's no way I'm leaving you with this meif'wa, I still don't trust her." I signed and glared at her.
"But.. What makes you think that Aaron will turn you back, Ein? Have you even thought this through properly?" I stated again.
"Kai, stop overthinking things so much! We can easily just force him to transform him back, all he has to do is look at him with those red eyes of his." Ryder joked and ran towards the car.
"Besides, I really want to ride in this thing! It's been so long since we've been anywhere and I honestly really want to go back to Starlight, it is where Jax and I met after all.." Ryder smiled fondly at Jax, who began walking closer to him as well.
"Come on, Kai, everything will be fine, I promise. Michi is sincere in her words. We'll just go to get my ears and tail back, and then we'll return back here straight away." Ein said and smiled at me.
I smiled back, then looked down at my white boots, feeling my cheeks heat up a little.
"Fine... I guess we could use a holiday.." I replied with a small grin.
This caused Jax, Ryder, and Ein to all run towards me wrap me into a group hug, all laughing and saying there 'thank you's' loudly, echoing throughout the forest.
"Alright, alright! Calm down!" I laughed and pushed them off of me softly.
"So, Michi, I suppose you know how to drive us out of this forest and onto the main road?" I asked and looked over at the purple haired meif'wa, who was awkwardly standing there.
"Heh, well you see, Michi did struggle to drive through this forest, hence the dents on the car from hitting a few trees and bushes.." She admitted and scratched the back of her neck.
"No worries! Kai knows how to drive!" Ryder suddenly blurted out.
I gasped and looked at him.
"Yeah! Kai used to always drive us away once we robbed a store or something back in the day, he's fast but careful!" Jax agreed, laughing at the memories.
"Guys! That was a long time ago, it's been a while since I've even sat in a car!" I replied, uneasy with suddenly being thrown into the spotlight.
"Aww, come on, I'm sure you can do it, just sit in the car and try to familiarise yourself. Ryder and I never even passed our drivers tests." Jax stated and ruffled my hair, slightly pushing me to the front door of the vehicle.
"Ah, then it's settled! Kai~San drives us to the airport! Don't worry, Michi will direct you! And we have enough fuel to make it!" Michi yelled excitedly and rushed over to the car, opening the back doors.
"I dibs the very back!" Jax and Ryder both shouted and ran to the door together.
I studied the car carefully.
It was a large, black forward drive, and had three doors, meaning that it had many seats.
"Michi will sit in the middle part then! Michi gets the whole area to herself! Nya!" Michi smiled and ran into the car, slouching into her seat.
"Mind if I sit in the passenger seat, next to you?" Ein said suddenly from next to me.
My eyes widened as I looked up at him and smiled. "Sure" I simply replied as we began walking over to our sides.
Once we were all settled into the car, with Ein next to me, Michi in the seats behind us, and Jax and Ryder sitting together in the seats behind Michi, I signed and focused on the gears.
Memories of being in our old getaway car suddenly came flooded back, making me smile as I saw myself, Jax, and Ryder zooming through the dim-lightened streets, with the sound of faint sirens behind us, laughing at another successful robbery.
It was never a good thing to do, no, but we were troublesome back then. It worried me to be going back out of the forest, in fear that people might remember us considering that we were very wanted criminals.
But nonetheless, I remembered that I'm doing this for Ein's sake only. His happiness did mean the world to me after all, all I really want is to protect him, and make sure he feels fine at all times. Just something about his past made me want to help him, like he helped me without even knowing or really doing anything.
Leaving my responsibilities behind and escaping the world of reality and my parents' dreams for me, wasn't really his fault, it was more my decision. I was unhappy where I was, I'm happy now, surrounded by people who actually love me like a family. I don't need to live in a nice area out of a forest to be happy, because I'm already happy. A college degree in something I didn't want to do, was my parents' dream, not mine. Being here was much better than where I once was.
"I'm so excited to get out of this forest after so long!" Ryder said, breaking me out of my thoughts.
"Same! Especially at the fact that it's Starlight Wonderland!" Jax continued.
But then motherly mode suddenly hit me again.
"Wait, don't we need to pack clothes, food, and the usual stuff that people pack for holidays?" I asked, looking back at the three.
"No need to worry! Starlight has all that! And I'm sure there will be clothes in the luggage at the airport!" Michi replied, giggling.
"Now hurry up and start driving! Michi will tell you where to head" She stated again.
I turned back around and turned the keys in the key slot, hearing the nostalgic noise of the car starting.
I turned my head to face Ein, who was already looking at me, and quickly tuned again to look down at his lap.
I smiled at him and turned away also. Placing my hands on the steering wheel, ready for the journey ahead of us.
"Lead the way, Michi." I smiled, suddenly not feeling so doubtful about this mission.
