A lifeless quiet laugh tumbles from my lips as I lean back to the chair, throwing my head back in disbelief.
"Ah, really," I spit out in tart regards.
My fingers tapped against the wooden desk that continued for miles and miles, lining up my fellow low self-esteemed students. I sighed again as I glanced around me, the silence is standing so still in the suffocating air of the study hall. I glanced around for Heumi but she was nowhere to be found, or frankly because I didn't wear my contacts today in fear of falling asleep in class with them on again is a dangerous habit I'm trying to rid of. I squinted my eyes, making the blurry world somewhat a centimeter or so a little less blurry. A smirk tugs at the corner of my lips as I spot the little blond strands of someone's head that was lying face down on the table just ahead of me. A laugh escaped my lips and my neighbor across from me threw me another nasty glare. I sank back and bowed a little but I guess with my umpth number of sighs, she's had enough of me and stood up to leave.
Guilt poked at me but it's not really my fault, I can't understand the language of math and I probably will never. I glanced back over, rolling my eyes.
'And she was the one who scolded me for sleeping during lessons and study time'.
I grabbed the napkin that was under my now empty Starbucks cup and began to pinch bits and pieces off before rolling them between my forefinger and thumb. I grinned mischievously, eying my victim from across of me. I mean, I am blind, but I've been blessed with luck and a good aiming hand. I brought my hand up, closing my right eye and squinting my left for better measure as I tested my estimation of where I should aim at. I tossed it over and magically, landing on the back of her neck as I presume but not where I wanted, not enough to wake her from her sleep.
I frowned, 'Maybe I'm off today.'
I tried again but by the third, she wasn't waking, she wasn't bothered at all.
'Weird, she's usually a really light sleeper. Was she that tired?'
I tried again but this time, my hand was a little tired so I decided to flick it across the tables. I grinned as the little paper bullet hit somewhere on her head as her hair moved just the slightest.
I grinned proudly, 'I didn't spend all those time playing flip the bottle cap with my cousins for no reason. The queen rises once again.'
There was a low growl and the head lifted up towards me.
I frowned, 'That growl is new. Is she going through puberty again?' I pondered at how low her pitch came out.
I squinted my eyes, leaning halfway over the table towards her, tilting my head in confusion.
'Fuck's wrong with her? She knows it's just- why is her hair so short? The fuck, did she just cut it an hour ago? Where's her glass- fuck, it's not her is it?'
My face dropped and I propelled my body back into my seat with my hands covering my mouth.
"Fuck me."
I stood up, "I'm so sorry. I thought you were someone else", I blubbered out and got hushed by the people around us. Cussing myself out mentally and hearing exactly every of Heumi's words scolding me that I probably should think before doing a lot and saying a lot of the shit I just did. I stupidly bow to him and frantically collected my life into my bag along with my pride and dashed out of the library. I can honestly say, my power walk if not jog out of the library to my dorm, probably was the fastest record I held these past two years that I've attended Uni. My cheeks were on fire, fire I tell you. My fingers were clammy and cold as I pulling out my phone from my back pocket to dial her number.
