I looked out the window of the yellow bus as it drove along the motorway. There was an old lady with grey hair sat next to me I grinned at her in a friendly way. She pinched her face, showing more of her wrinkles, which made her look even more sour than she already looked. I turned back to the window. It was a hot, sticky day and everyone on the bus was drenched in sweat. I smiled back at the old lady, this time in a less frightening way. She stood up from beside me and walked to the other side of the bus, where she sat next to a child picking his nose. She glared at me for the whole journey. It made me rather uncomfortable.
Eventually, the bus stopped outside a huge stadium. I stood up and, carful not to hit anything with my tall head, I slowly walked down to the door of the bus, saying thank you as I got off. I looked over my shoulder at the old lady, who had now moved back to her original seat. She gave me a sharp stare. I took a deep breath, and trudged towards the stadium, as the doors of the bus closed and the bus started moving again.
I was now standing in the car park wondering what to do next. I pulled out my phone from my pocket to check what time it was. 19.15. The concert didn't start till eleven o'clock. But i still needed to buy my dinner, get past security, eat my dinner, find out where I was sitting, get to my seat and then text Lainey. It wasn't that much time, considering all that.
I looked around for a place to get food. There was a burger stand, a a taco stand, and a pulled pork stand. After a short while of thinking, I decided to go with the pork.
I casually pranced towards the stand. "I'll have a pulled pork sandwich with BBQ sauce, please!" The woman, who was working there, looked at me. Her face said something like, "you think I care what you want? I just work here!" I took a breath, calmed myself down, then repeated,"can I please have a pulled pork sandwich with barbecue sauce?" She pulled a piece of gum out of her mouth, "did you say barbecue sauce sir?" I nodded. She rolled her eyes at me and I raised one eyebrow. She put on a pair of gloves and took a handful of pork, put it In a bun, and practically drowned it in sauce. She handed it to me and put the gum back in her mouth. I handed her five dollars and she smiled greedily.
That was uncomfortable.
