"Does he know we're coming"?

  Yes.

Good, I'd hate to get my neck broken.

We finally made it to what I presumed to be the vampire's house.

Just to give fair warning, he's not himself right now, said Ann.

We followed her up to the door and waited for her to knock.

It's now or never.

Lloyd reached over and clasped our hands together and placed a kiss on my knuckles before letting our hands dropped.

It helped calm my nerves a bit but I was still anxious. I envied how calm he was.

The door opened and we both tensed.

The man who answered the door was a man who looked to be in his early thirties, olive skin and thick dark hair.

He was really handsome, even with the smudges under his eyes.

He wasn't my cup of tea but I had to admit, the man was good looking.

If not for the difference in scent, he could actually pass for a shifter.

He stepped back and opened the door for all of us to come in.

Keith, you have to eat something, said Ann gently.

He was not what I expected at all.

The second thing I noticed was how thrashed the house was, specifically the living room.

"Did the kidnappers did all this, I asked incredibly"?

No, I did.

"So you're telling me you have no idea why or who could have kidnapped my sister"?

All I know is that a wolf was in my house.

He paused from pacing up and down and snatched a dish rag from off the counter and stalked towards me.

I braced myself expecting some type of attack.

Lloyd stepped forward, angling his body to shield me from the vampire and the demon who I had actually forgotten about for a second.

He paused with the rag in his hands to regard us tiredly.

I have no intention of harming you are you mate he said impatiently.

Neither is my friend he said gesturing to Ann.

I only want her to sniff this and see if she can recognize who is the damn wolf who broke into my house.

It's ok, I said rubbing Lloyd's back.

He stepped forward and handed the cloth to Llyod and he handed it to me.

It had a smudge of blood on it.

I sniffed and my heart lurched.

Keith's Pov

Judging from the look on her face she definitely knew who it was.

Who is it, I asked giving her a hard look.  Daring her to try and deny it.

"Abe".

"Who the hell is Abe"?

He was a man that our father was thinking of mating with my sister.

I don't know him personally but I know his brother.

How asked Lloyd?

I dated his brother for a short while. Let's just say he left a very strong impression and not in a good way.

"Do you keep in contact with his brother"?

Sometimes.

I'm sure if I explain the situation he'll help us.

"What makes you so sure he'll throw his own brother under the bus for you, I asked bluntly"?

He owes me.

You sound confident.

I am.

I could tell from the slight twitch on her mate's face that he was not pleased by that new information.

Let's go then.

Ann, I'm leaving everything to you until I get back.

She's not coming with us?

I figured I spare you both the discomfort since every time she looks at you, you flinch and I'd rather not have to jump in between you two because she looks at you funny and you stab her.

She glared at me before looking at Ann.

I'm sorry, it's just...

It's ok, really I get it. Go on.

Thank you.

"Keith".

I paused.

Try to go easy on her sister. She's just as upset as you and I can see how much she loves her sister.

I have faith you'll bring her back home.
