Chapter ~5~~ Little Gem

Let's get into the chapter now.

After being taken back by the voice, curiously I turned around, to make sure I had just heard right about who had the voice.

My, was I shocked definitely, yeah as you it was Jack. My heart broke into pieceswhen I noticed the kid in his hand.

Not to get me wrong or anything, I do love kids, I had only wished I was the mother of Jack's kids.

Looking at me with wide eyes. Jack stuttered "T t tori"

Shrugging with a mental eye roll, I offered a tight lip smile "Yeah that's me," I said looking around, trying to keep my eyes on anything, that's not Jack.

"Is this your kid?" I had asked Jack, after which I mentally scolded my self, for asking the obvious. The child does look like Jack.

"Yeah, she is, my little gem." he chuckled softly, though somewhat nervous, "Her name is Thalia though," he added quickly.

Staring at the little bundle of cuteness in his hands, with nothing but pure admiration. Which, made the back of eyes sting with tears which I quickly blinked away, as Jack looked up to me.

"She is beautiful," I muttered quickly, which made Jack smile, he replied with a "thank you".  That smile got me flustered all the time, well I can say without mincing words, that the smile was on of the reason I fell in love with him.

"Oh, dear lord, Jack where have you been, I was going crazy looking for you," I heard a voice say.

Turning around to see who had just said that, I realised there was striking resemblance between the child in Jack's hand, and the blond woman in front of me.

"Sorry, babe," I  heard Jack say, "Thalia just won't let me rest and was dragging all the way to the ice cream store" Jack quickly added.

Quickly scooting over to where Jack and Thalia was, the woman took the child in her hands, murmuring some words in her ears, causing the child to giggle, and Jack shooting her a playful glare . From what I had deduced from the whole scene, I think this is Jack's wife.

Doing a quick check over her, once I realized I hadn't done so, from what I can see ,she is of average height, beautiful blonde hair, casual clothing, yet classy and comfortable. I had to say she is actually beautiful.

Clearly my throat lightly and shifting uncomfortably on my feet's, I got the family's attention. And was quite embarrassed, don't ask me why, cause even I don't know.

"Oh Maria, this is Tori",  Jack said, noticing me standing there awkwardly.  I offered Maria, a tight lipped smile.

"Very nice to meet you", Maria had said. "the pleasure is mine".
I had replied.

I think she does not know am her husband's Ex, I thought mentally to my self. Why I had thought so was because, I don't really think one will be cheerful to your husband Ex the way she was.

"How did you to meet "Maria said, which had jostled me into consciousness, from the inner conversation I was having with my self.

"Actually am Jack's Ex", I stuttered out, immediately wondering why I had said that . The atmosphere, immediately become tensed after my statement.

Everything felt awkward, earlier when I said that one does not become to cheerful with your Partner's Ex , Yeah I was actually right.  The smile and the cheerful nature of Maria, fell faster than I  could say, Banter.

Jack just stood there looking rather confused. " I think I should get going now " I had said to save the three of us, the misery we were now, literally speaking though.

"It was nice running into you" Jack had said. I nodded awkwardly and gave a tight lipped smile.  Before waving at the child.

I turned my cart quickly, and left the scene, releasing a breath I didn't know I was holding.

I increased my pace, in an attempt to get out of the tensed atmosphere. Arriving at the Cashier's table, I was pretty happy the person before was already leaving, making space for me to pay for my things and leave.

I hurriedly piled my goods on the counter, which raised an eyebrow from the Cashier, which made to wonder why I was rushing.

After five minutes of waiting I was actually done,  yeah my groceries was large, so I had to wait.

With six heavy bags in my hands, I worked out of the mall, with one aim in mind to get to my car fast and put this bags in the cars, damn, they were freaking heavy.

After rigorous trekking, from the mall to the car park and locating my car, I hurriedly, opened the trunk and dump the bags there. Heaving a sigh of relive, I got into my car and prepared for the ride home.

Driving out of the mall car park, the events of the day flashing in my mind, most especially the meeting with Jack and his family. I had actually, decided that maybe I was actually spending to much time pinning for Jack.

I came to the solution that maybe it was just time to let Jack go.

Awwww.....  Our Tori Is actually admitting the truth now, though it hurts, it's  best she stop pinning for Jack.

Anyway.... Stick with me for the next chapter.

Reason behind the name. Well, since my name is originally Treasure, and Jade is my nickname (which is a gem) I had thought I would just call you guys Gemers.
