Chapter 1
It was a cold afternoon in Arkadia, and the clouds were almost shielding the small village from last bit of sun the day granted. Bellamy Blake was sitting on a log outside the ship thinking about how far they'd all come since the first day on the ground. Octavia was as gentle and kind as a butterfly, now his not so innocent sister was riding of into battles with Trikru. Jasper had been so nice and caring and now he barely spent a minute sober and was always blaming everyone for his pain. And Clarke, well she was still as stubborn as ever but shed grown more tough and brave she'd always been like that. But something about her had changed. And well, he himself had come a long way from "we do whatever the hell we want". It was funny to think that was only 6 months ago. A lot can change when all your fighting for survival every waking minute.
"Bellamy." Kane called as he wandered up to the boy. "I need you and Clarke to go out and try and find Murphy, Emori and Miller. They aren't answering their radio and I fear somethings happened to them." "Okay, I'll grab my stuff and find Clarke." Bellamy sighs. It would be dark soon and he reckoned they wouldn't make it back in time. He went and grabbed his gun, pack, tent, blanket and some food. He put his knife in his boot and went to go look for Clarke. She's probably in medical he thought to himself. Just as he walked through the doors to medical he saw her talking to a little girl in a soothing voice, the girl had a cut on her knee and he waited for Clarke to put a band-aid on it and send the girl on her way before speaking. "Clarke" Bellamy moved his head in a "come over here I need to talk to you sort of way". Clarke wandered over to him with her concerned face on. "What's wrong?" She whispered. "Murphy, Emori and Miller are missing. Kane wants us to go find them. Grab your pack and a gun and let's go. I'd suggest grabbing a blanket too."
Bellamy wandered to the gate of Arkadia to wait for Clarke. On the way, he saw Octavia chatting with Lincoln near their tent. He didn't like that they shared a tent but he'd come to like Lincoln over the past few months so it wasn't the end of the world. Octavia looked up and called Bellamy over to where they were sitting. "Hey Bell, where are you heading out this time?" She questioned her big brother. He quickly explained to her that himself and Clarke were going to find the others. "Can I come?" Of course, Octavia would want to come Bellamy thought to himself as he shook his head. "No, your needed here, plus it might be dangerous and I don't want you getting hurt." He watched his sisters face grow an annoyed expression. Poor Lincoln would cop her rage rants tonight. "Excuse me Bellamy but I've been in far more dangerous situations then "finding people missions"! And to hell they need me! The only thing I'm good at is fighting!!" Bellamy shook his head at Octavia glares. He looked towards the door of the ship and he saw Clarke walking out with her pack and a gun. He scruffed Octavia's hair as he knew she wouldn't let him hug her in this kind of mood. He reached his hand out and shook Lincolns hand. "Take care of her for me". Bell said in his nicest 'If anything happens to her you will deal with me' voice. He was very older brotherly that way when it came to Octavia's safety. His sister. His responsibility. Octavia stormed into her tent. Lincoln got up to follow as he said, "I always do, don't worry."
Hey Bell, you ready to go!" Yelled Clarke. "I was born ready!" Bellamy yelled back with a cheeky grin as they walked up to each other and started to head towards the Gate.
"Wait, aren't we taking the Rover" Clarke asked sounding confused.
"They were hunting, so they were probably somewhere around the forest areas. We're tracking them. Hopefully they haven't gone too far. Plus, the Rovers is Raven repair." So, the two-started venturing into the forest.
*A FEW HOURS LATER*
It was getting dark by now and Bellamy and Clarke still hadn't found the others.
"Bellamy, we should rest. It's not safe at night." Clarke sighed. Bellamy wanted to keep searching but he knew she was right. "Okay, I think I saw a cave not too long ago" Bellamy replied grudgingly.
When they reached the cave Bellamy got a fire going with sticks he'd gathered on the way whilst Clarke got out some raw fish that she started to cook on the fire that Bellamy had successfully made. When it finished cooking, the two enjoyed the first meal they'd had all day. It was delicious! "I'll take first watch, you should get some sleep. If we find them and they're injured you'll need to be focused." Bellamy said.
"Are you sure, you look like you haven't slept in days." Bellamy knew she was right. He hadn't slept very well in days. But he knew that was the last thing on his mind right now.
"I'll be fine Clarke." He says, staring into the heat of the flames.
He was in for a long night. He did not plan on waking the girl up. Clarke put down a blanket on the hard, cold ground of the cave. She knew it wouldn't make a difference but it was somewhat comforting. Before she went to sleep she decided to give Bellamy a blanket. "Goodnight." She said, handing it to him. He gave her a rare 'thankyou' smile. She returned it. "G-night."
Bellamy watched her fall asleep almost
instantly. Then sunk into the deep, dark, lonely hole of his thoughts.
