She could hear the shouting,
she pretended to sleep.
She could hear the crying,
she pretended to sleep.
She could hear the beating sound,
She pretended to sleep.
She could hear the call of help,
She pretended to sleep.
She could hear and understand the desperation,
She pretended to sleep.
She knew if she stood up, she can stop it,
