"Bye!" I yell to my parents as they walked towards the car. They both worked together in the same company and had to leave for a few days so that meant that I would be home alone. "Bye, be safe!" they both yell back. I smile and close the door and make my way to the kitchen. I make myself breakfast and wait for my friend to come pick me up for school. I knew how to drive but I didn't have my license yet. The doorbell rings and I knew that it was my friend so I just opened it. We both get into her car and drive to school.
During fifth period I go to the bathroom and realize I was the only one there. Before I could open the stall door, I get a call from an unknown number. I simply ignore the call and hang up. After a long a day at school, it was finally time to go home. I walk alone to my house like always and receive a call again from the same unknown number. I hang up and keep walking. I finally arrive to my house and begin on the big load of homework I have. Before I noticed, it was already night and it was about 9:40. I decide to stop doing my homework since I was so tired and go to sleep. As I was putting my stuff away, I look up. I had heard a click and seen a flash. I quickly close my curtains and I start to think that maybe I'm just tired and imagined that. I go to sleep and I wake up at 1 in the morning to my phone ringing, the same unknown caller, again. "What the hell?" I say and ignore it. An hour later, I wake up again the unknown caller was calling me again! Frustrated and tired, I hang up. I could not go back to sleep so I go downstairs to get a drink of water, I take my phone with me. I take out a glass cup from the cabinet and I fill it up with water. I drink the water and receive a call again. This time I pick up and I say "Hello?".
The unknown caller replies but their voice is disguised. They say " You have three hours to open that safe in your house and give me all the money." He immediately hangs up and I drop my phone. Terrified, I try to call the cops but I have no service. What? I thought. All of a sudden the lights go off. Scared and confused, I hide in the corner of the kitchen. I receive a call from them again and I pick up but this time I stay quiet. They say "Come find me". That immediately sent chills down my spine. I quickly run and get the car keys and run towards the door. Before I could the touch the doorknob, someone pulls me and I fall on the floor. I fight back and I take their mask off their face. Gray eyes and dark hair. I get up and run to the car. I open the door and get in as fast as I could. I finally felt safe.
I drive to the police station. When I got there, I tried to explain to them what had happened and I tried to show them the calls I had been receiving but they were gone. They didn't believe me. They decide to take me back to my house. They wanted to see the house. We head back to my house only to find everything in place. "What?" I yell. Everything was fine and nothing was moved and the glass from the cup that I had dropped earlier was not there anymore. The cops did not believe me. They decide to question me at the station. We head back over there and on the way, I could not stop thinking about how this could be possible. Was I seeing things? Was I going crazy? I thought. We got back to the station and they took me to a room and sat me down on a metal chair. It was cold and I was so confused I did not know what to do or what to think or what I was going to tell my parents. After waiting for a long time, someone finally comes in the room and sits down in front of me. I slowly look up and stare at them for a while. I could not believe what I was seeing, gray eyes and dark hair, "So what happened?" they said.
