Have you ever had that feeling in life, when you realised that if you had done something different it would have turned out so different and for the better? Well, my name is Alexis Hale, Alex for short and this is my story of how I went from an innocent girl to someone who ended up in jail. I'm not a murderer by any means, however, I just was at the wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong person who was actually the one to blame, not me.

I guess I should probably start out by telling you a bit about myself. So I'm your average 17-year-old girl. I would call myself more of an introvert, but then if I was being brutally honest you could also call me socially awkward. Besides that, everything in life seems so planned out for me and its like I'm living in a prearranged world. All I do is play my part and not interfere in this pre-recorded lifestyle. However, that all went wrong. The summer I turned 16 I made one of the biggest mistakes of my life and 'no surprise' it was a guy who I thought would change for me. That was a total lie. Now I look back at this and think of how delusional I was. To actually think he would like someone like me and that I would be so naive to believe him. Sorry, I got a bit carried away there. Let's get back on track and take you right back to the start of the crime scene that began at the start of summer in 2016.

The sun was out and the beach was packed full of people splashing about in the water, but of course, I was inside my room doing nothing more than sleeping and catching up on my most beloved TV shows. I know, I'm a typical teenager who would rather stay in here than explore the outdoors. That has to do with my social awkwardness around crowds of people as well. Beside my best friend, Lexi Chamberlain, who is the type of girl that always has the boys around her little finger and a rebel at heart, I was no match for her and let's not get started on appearance. With her flowing curly beach blonde hair and olive complexion compared to my lily white skin and brunette hair was to die for. Being friends with her for so long meant it didn't bother me so much anymore. We met in kindergarten and have been joined at the hip ever since. Even back then all the boys loved her and gave her cards on Valentine's Day whereas I was just happy with a few from my family, but of course how could I forget my other best friend, Finn Whitely. He too was popular at school, like Lexi, but he has jet black hair with steel blue eyes and is extremely tall compared to Lexi and myself. We like to call ourselves the three musketeers as we have all known each other since the age of 5 which makes us pretty much inseparable.

As we all went through intermediate and high school Lexi and Finn became popular because they had the looks to of course and they were so easy to get along with plus they were great at sports. Finn was on the school football team which had won 5 years in a row to our biggest school rival, Pine Hill College. Located in the reasonably small town of Rutherford, makes Pine Hill and Saint Helena the only high schools in the area. Lexi had always been into cheerleading so naturally she was always cheering Finn on during games. Though I would come to watch, I was always somewhere hidden in the stands trying to blend in as much as possible. Sports and I didn't exactly go hand-in-hand, I mean my coordination is terrible so I tend to stick to no sport. My friends who are popular and sporty, why would they be friends with me, right? Well, I guess we all just work well together and get along. In addition, all three of our mothers used to be best friends in high school just like we are today.
