Japan and Taiwan have excellent relations.
These relations are kept on the down low, however, because of China, who doesn't like the idea of them having diplomatic ties at all.
Japan didn't even give Taiwan a thank you after she gave him the most money to help with the March 11 disaster, because he didn't want China to get angry.
But somehow, he and Taiwan still manage to meet up.
