The New Kid (under extreme editing)

I was sitting on the beach at camp. Everyone was still recovering the from the last war. The two camps now had meetings 4 times a year to talk about anything that might be happening. All the meetings so far had been pretty short because there hasn't been much to talk about. There's the occasional monster camp, and we also used the meetings to get new campers to their respective camps.

"Percy! Percy!!!" 

I turned and saw Annabeth running towards me, shouting my name and waving her arms. She skidded to a stop in the sand in front of me. "Chiron wants to see you at the Big House."

"Why?" I asked.

She shrugged. I pushed myself off the ground and wrapped my arm around her as we walked to the big house.

I walk up to the Big House and enter. Inside is a group of 3. I immediately recognize Chiron and Mr. D, but there is a third man that I have never seen. He has glasses that look like half moons. He has a long beard that is silvery-grey. 

"Percy," Chiron says to me with a smile, "finally you're here. I'd like you to meet an old friend of mine, Albus Dumbledore."

I shake hands with the old man. "Nice to meet you."

"Dumbledore was just about to tell me why he stopped by on such short notice."

"Ah yes." says the man named Dumbledore, "Well Percy, to put it simply, I need your help."

I assume that by 'help' he means quest. "What kind of help?"

"I need you to protect a boy at our school." He says.

"What kind of school?" I ask.

"Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry," he replies as if this is normal.

Even though that fact isn't that surprising; I mean, mythology is real; I still feel like my world has just blown up again. "You mean like witches and wizards?"

"Yes. The boy I need you to protect, Harry Potter, is in danger from an evil and very powerful wizard by the name of Voldemort. So, will you help?" He asks.

"Sure," I reply almost like I'm on auto. I can't think of a quest I've ever turned down. "When do we leave?"

"Tomorrow. I suggest you go pack. We have delivered all the things that you will need to your cabin." He says.

I leave to go pack and find Annabeth.
