Just another usual day for me, a very unusual girl. I spend most of my days doing ordinary school work and spending my free time doing as many ordinary things a girl my age could do. I must admit, it gets very boring trying to conceal who I really am on a daily basis without someone to share my fears with. I'm getting better though.
January 28th
Another lonely walk to school. Another lonely breakfast by myself in the school cafeteria. I thought that I would have to spend every other day like this, for the rest of my school years, until this morning. 8.22, a boy walks in. I've never noticed him before, but I can't help shake the feeling that I've known him my whole life. I could sense that there was something different about him, but I just couldn't quite put my finger on it. I knew what I had to do.
Through every class, I struggled to keep my mind set on my school work, but I couldn't concentrate with the tiny nagging in the back of my head, telling me that I couldn't go through with my plan. My conscience told me not to, but my brain told me to follow my instincts. Through Maths, Chemistry, Japanese, I just kept thinking, thinking of what I would do if I was caught, what I would say.
The bell rang, it was the end of the school day. I took my plan into action and followed the boy. He lead me through the town, into the forest and out again when I saw a slip of paper flutter out of his rucksack. I was curious so I ducked behind a bush until he had strolled slightly further into the distance, and then I took my chance... I sprinted over to where the paper lay and clasped it in my palm. As I unfolded it, I saw a name at the top. Ken Kaneki. That's the boy's name, Ken. My eyes scrolled down the paper as I read every last detail. It was a diary entry. I know I shouldn't, but I slowly walked on further while reading the entry and every once in awhile, glancing up to check I was still following the boy.
Next thing I know I tripped over a tree root and went flying through the air to find myself laying at the boy's feet...
