I woke up to the blinding lights coming from my curtains that had seemed to mysteriously cracked open over night. I could've sworn I had shut them tightly the night before. I hadn't been able to get proper sleep after my encounter with pennywise. My continuous nightmares didn't help either. It was as if he manifested himself in them in order to continue to taunt me.

I sat up on my warm bed with a heavy sigh of relief as I realized that my room didn't consist of any demon clowns, yet.

I stepped out of the warm shower as I wrapped myself up with the towel I had set up on the sink. I wiped the fogged up mirror with my hands making a squeaking noise throughout the restroom. I stared at my complexion in the mirror. Simple light brown hair and dark brown eyes. Nothing special, and I was okay with that. I continued to pick at my face as if I was looking for little details I hadn't noticed before when for a split second I could've sworn I saw a white gloved hand reach for my shoulder .

My breath caught in my throat as I turned around gasping for air trying to find the source of my illusion. Anything that I could've mistaken as the hellish white glove but to no avail, nothing. I convinced myself I had imagined it myself from the lack of sleep and thriving fear of the clown.

The strong smell of coffee and sound of bells as I opened the door to my favorite coffee shop, was enough to wake anybody up. I mentally rolled my eyes as I saw the long line of customers waiting to place their order. It was pretty busy for a Tuesday. I stood in line messing around with my phone when I noticed a young boy sitting with his mother. An innocent smile plastered on his face. He looked so happy, so complete with his early life. Before I had a chance to turn away from the young boy I curiously noticed him staring at something at the back of the shop. Furrowing my eyebrows I averted my attention to where his eyes led. My body froze in horror as a single red balloon floated about in mid air. Nobody seemed to have noticed the balloon but myself and the young child. As his mother spoke busily on her phone arguing with whoever was on the other line, she failed to notice her son had gotten up from his seat and has made his was slowly towards the red balloon. Panic stroked my body as I made my way towards the young boy. As I got closer, I noticed he was having a conversation with the balloon itself. I stepped closer to try and hear what he was saying but all I could make out was the sound of the child's laughter making my body shiver with uneasiness.

"hey kiddo" I said as I stepped closer to the child. I squatted down next to him as I looked at the balloon confused.

"hi" the child smiled before he turned his attention back to the balloon. he continued to laugh as if the balloon had made a joke that I couldn't seem to hear. Suddenly the child turned to look at me with an innocent smile.

"He's coming for you too" he giggled. My eyed widened as the child inspected my face. Before he could say anything else I cut him off.

"lets get you back to your mom okay? she would be very worried if she didn't find you sitting next to her" I said calmly before taking the child's hand into my own and leading him back to his mother, receiving a couple of odd stares from other customers. I turned around to catch one last glimpse of the balloon only to find it gone. My body shivered as I made my way back to the center of the shop. After returning the child to his mother I wasn't in the mood for coffee anymore and decided to head out to clear my head. My mind raced with panic as I convinced myself that the clown was the doing for all of this and he was just trying to mess with my head. I wasn't going to let him win. I wasn't going to let him drive me into insanity.

I stepped into the warmth of my apartment and immediately took off my coat and shoes. I slipped into my bed sheets trying to distract myself from todays events but my mind would just wander onto Norman. My heart ached as I remembered how he had broken up with me. I cursed myself mentally as I grabbed my laptop and opened it up instinctively clicking the Facebook app. My fingers shook as I slowly typed Normans name into the search bar. I sighed heavily as I clicked the search button.
