Imagine This
you're online scrolling through social media
you know this one of your friends posts are becoming dark and depressing
you decided to reach out to your friend and offer her help and comfort
they don't respond or they say they're fine or even delete your comment
the next day the post are getting worse
why does nobody care about me one of them says
you're frustrated because you offered them help you offered them care comfort and they pushed you away but instead you left for the more comfort
the cycle continues for weeks
finally you and your other friends who are also worried about this other sad depressed friend have enough
you let it out
listen I have been trying to help you 4 weeks we all have you keep pushing us okay we understand that you're not OK when you really want to help you feel happy again but if you're going to keep pushing us away stop asking for help or saying that no one cares because we do care and we want you to know that we're here for you.
you hit share knowing that people will see that you have in your friends have tried to reach out to this poor girl.
people agree with you
but then it hits
you were friends from church or other social groups outside of school
your phone buzzes
and notifications on the screen
from your friend that you've all been worried about
you open it will keep one of your best friends sitting right next to you
you read it you both read it
you know what you're wrong I'm not asking for attention I'm telling I'm actually depressed and no one is caring about me so don't start assuming things that are true
the message was on
New York all the horrid things
horror names
you're blamed for things you never said you but you never did
start crying
your best friend try to come for you
you're both sitting in the front row of church
Preachers preaching and you're sitting there crying front of him
when service ends you weren't bathroom crying your eyes out
you check your phone that you had put on silent
there's more
your other friend who had your back
they don't anymore
they're calling you names
they're blaming you for stuff that you didn't do
stuff said
that you were a liar
that you are the one that wants attention
when 4 really you're just trying to help
you're still crying in the bathroom stall
she turned all of your friends against you
friends you trusted friends you cared about
and now they all hate you
all but one
that one friend
the friend that was there when no one else was
for the rest of your week your best friend the one who was there for you when the bombs came in help you get through the week
hiding with you at lunch from the friend to turn your back at you
comforting you when you start to cry
after weeks of this pain you start talking to your friends again
you become friends again just like where you guys were before I know what happened
movies sleepovers running downtown
it was a whole again
everyone trusted each other again
everyone trust each other so much the two of your friends came out of the closet
no one makes a big deal because you all accept them for who they really are
because your friends
fast forward 3 months it's February 2 week before Valentine's Day
you're in class sitting with all your friend
next to you as a friend who made your other friends turn their back on you few months back
the one who was depressed and sad and blamed you for everything
she slides you a note
will you be my girlfriend
you're shocked
you don't know what to do
You don't have feelings for her like that
in fact your straight girl with a crush on a straight guy
you turn to tell her
or one of your other friends interrupt you
did you do the math homework
you turn and say yes to that front because hey you were a good girl and do your homework
but the girl who asked you out didn't know that you were talking to someone else
the bell rings and you walk to class with all of your friends
she comes up next to you and grabs your hand smiling and blushing like it was the best day of her life
about a week later
you and your friends decided by each other roses as jokes because all of you guys single and have no way to get any kind of relationship because you can answer that boring
a week after buying the Roses you're sitting out there school in the Roses arrived to be organized
see you laugh and say I wonder if anyone got me want as well
a group of girls turn to you
who we know who you bought one for
Carrie talking about her
you shrugged it off because you didn't buy her one
He bought one for all of your best friends who asked you to buy them one so it looks like people like them
