The Looking Glass

It was early

While trying to gather myself so I could face the world

I looked into the looking glass

A face peered back at me

The bath was dimly lit so turned on the overhead

The image peering back at me scoured

I didn't really like what I was seeing

A change was needed

And soon

So I got underway

Every change made left me looking the exact same

Which left feeling the exact same

A change was needed

The looking glass was telling the answer all along

I could change my appearance and nothing would change

Because the problem was not how I looked

And until I change how I was living

I would always look same

Years later I am still working on my lifestyle makeover

The image in the looking glass is pleased with my new look

But I feel that there is much work still to be done...
