I stared out of the window, watching the silvery raindrops race each other until they disappeared at the bottom of the window and continued down the car door.
"Bella is excited to see you." A gruff voice disrupted the silence, causing my eyes to break away from the window and the raindrops to the owner of the voice, My dad, Charlie. His dark eyes were fixated on the empty highway, they quickly glanced my way before darting back to the asphalt.
"Oh, Um , yeah.. I'm excited too see her as well." I whispered. I knew that was lie, back in Phoenix Bella was one of my worst tormenters, that's why I waited so long before moving in with Charlie.
Mom had always favored me more and that made Bella jealous, which made her mean towards me. She would constantly push me down in the hallways of our house, tell me I was fat, yank on my hair when no one was watching. The bullies at school were nothing compared too Bella, what made it worse was the fact that she was my sister..
I was torn from my thoughts when we pulled up to a quaint little two story house.
"It's not blue anymore." I noted.
"Well, Jacob black wanted to earn a little extra money, so I let him paint it white." Charlie explained before stepping out of the car and grabbing my bags for me. I only had four bags, two for clothes and toiletries, one for shoes and one for my art supplies.
I followed after him, practically running as he walked inside, leading me too my room, He stopped when we entered a familiar room. It was a small bathroom sized room with a daybed, floral comforter still remained on it. A window sat right above the bed, a vase of artificial flowers still sat in it, lights were lined against the walls, a few pictures hung with them. There was a long night stand with cubbys beside my bed. At the foot sat a 19 inch tv on top of another nightstand, there was about an inch of space in between the bed and nightstand.
"I left it the same as it was when you left." Charlie said before shrugging his shoulders. "I don't know when Bella will be back..make yourself at home." He said before leaving the room.
With a sigh I sat down on my bed, looking around. I noticed my mirror was still hanging on the front of my closet door across from my bed. I saw a girl in, a fat girl. A fat girl with glacier blue eyes and long brown hair..a ugly girl. I felt tears sting my eyes the longer I continued to stare at the girl in the mirror.
Tearing my gaze away I shot up off the bed and swirled around to my bags, ready to unpack them, ready to get my mind off the girl in the mirror. I turned to my clothes and started putting them away, closing my eyes until I opened the closet door. Gingerly I hung up my clothes and folded what needed to be folded and put away my shoes. I grabbed my toiletries and put them in the bathroom before returning to set my art supplies.
I put all my stuff in one of the cubbies on my nightstand/desk. Plugging my phone in, I laid down on my bed, allowing my mind too wander. I needed to get a job, I couldn't stay in the same house as Bella for extended periods of time..but I also needed It so I could save up for art supplies.
My thoughts were cut short when I heard the rumbling of an engine shut off in the driveway. I lifted myself off my bed and glanced out the window, I saw Bella jump out of a battered red truck. Oh god. I quickly ducked down, my chest hurt as I felt my anxiety flare up..I hadn't seen her in almost a year. Would she still hate me? Of course she would, she always wanted the bond I had with mom..but were not with mom anymore..maybe not.
I took a few deep breaths and sat up, walking over to my door, ready to great Bella. She had to pass my door, it was right by the stairs, across from her room. It would be okay. It would be okay. Bella will be happy to see you! I felt hope burn through my veins as I stood in my doorway.
I heard the door open and muffled voices. Charlie must be informing Bella that I am here. She'll be happy to see me. I heard heavy footsteps on the stairs. Both excitement and nerves burned through me. I finally saw Bella's head pop up, then her whole body. God, she is so beautiful.
She looked over to me, her chocolate ones meeting mine. I raised my hand in a little wave. Bella stared at me. Oh god. I tried to judge the expression on her face but failed, how was she feeling? Happy, excited? Or angry?
"Oh my god! Iris!" She exclaimed, rushing towards me and engulfing me in a huge hug, causing me to stumble into my room and falling back on my bed. When I did Bella stood upright and shut the door with her foot. The door shut with a heavy thud as she walked towards me.
"Listen here you little ugly, fat, slut. You took mom away from me, don't take dad away. Besides he'll never love you. No one does. Why would they? You are so fucking fat and so ugly. You are such a disgrace." Bella growled at me, her chocolate eyes were black, she leaned over in my face and spat on me.
Quickly she opened the door. Her attitude changed, she became chipper. "Okay! Love you sis! I've missed you!" She exclaimed as she walked out the door, glaring at me as she walked away. I wiped the spit away before shutting the door. I grabbed for my small bag, a coin purse, and pulling out my silver blade, the artificial light glinted off it. I locked the door before sitting down in my bed. I don't know why Bella hated me so much, I couldn't control how she felt about me but I could control this!
Tears stung my eyes as I dragged the edge of the blade across my arm, chest heaving as the dots of blood winked at me, slowly falling to the floor with my silvery tears.
