Kyle's POV:

Ashton drove me to uni, as usual. The uni's going to release our results in the midterm exams. I was hoping to here my name mentioned first, or just make it to the the top three examinees. I breathed heavily when the assigned person to announce the results brought out the paper enclosed in an envelope.

"For this term's top three examinees," he reads. "I am going to announce it in ascending order. First, top three for this term is Bridgette Mae Stadfort."

Bridge was standing next to me, we both hugged each other because of happiness. I am so proud of her.

"Top two goes to.." the announcer reads the paper. "Nash Patrick Montes." NASH IS NUMBER TWO?! Bridge and I were surprised because we both know that Nash is the biggest nerd in this uni and everyone knows he owns the smartest brain.

"It's okay, Kyle. I wanted to be number two." He told me when me and Bridge ran up to him.

I'm starting to loose hope because I don't think I'll make it to the top since Nash himself landed to number two.

"This term's number one.." He reads carefully. "Kylie Noelle Anderson." AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. I screamed for the reason of being so overwhelmed. I can't even!!!! I have to call Ashton.

I tried to call Ash but it landed to voicemail. "Hey, I believe you're ringing Ashton Irwin, but he seemed to have missed your call. Just leave a message after the beep. Beeeeep! Haha. Have nice day!" His voice mail gives me butterflies, his giggle though. Top one of my favorites.

"Ashtooon! You can't believe what I have achieved!" I say excitedly. "Wherever you are now, call me as soon as you get this! Stay safe!" I didn't want to tell him over voicemail, I want to tell him face to face. I'm really excited.

"Ms. Anderson!" A familiar voice called me. I turned my back to see who it was, it was Mrs. De Vera, head of the uni's newspaper team.

"What can I help you with, ma'am?" I asked her. I'm pretty nervous.

"First off, congratulations for aiming the highest." She said extending her arms for a handshake. "Do you want to talk privately in my office?"

Holy shit mother of balls. Whenever she calls you for her office, it means you're in deep trouble. What have I done? I a hundred percent sure I didn't cheat my way to number one.

"Have a seat." She told me when we reached her office. "So, last time I checked you were the Features Editor of our newspaper." She goes. "I Have read your reports and stories, including the one just turned in moments ago. I've been thinking that I let you handle our headline for next month's gazette."

GAZETTE? Holy prick! HELL YEAH! honestly, I've grown pretty tired of the newspaper and the gazette is a break through experience for me. It's a whole new level. "Of course, Mrs. De Vera! It's pleasure of mine!" i accepted her offer gladly, all smiles.

"That wonderful." she nodded. "I need you to write an article, the topic's up to you. The gazette's theme for next month is vintage, classical, kind of black and white." She explains. "I'm giving you up until July 10 to submit your article." That's three weeks from now.

"Thanks, Mrs. De Vera! I wont't let you down!" i said and headed out of her office with a big smile.

Ashton's POV:

"Hallu. You told me to call you but you're not picking up. So.. what's up? pick you up at 3? Call me back." I said over Kyle's voicemail.

Want to know how her voice machine goes? It's hilarious. "Good day to you my beloved friend, Kyle Anderson speaking. Leave your important message after the beep tone and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Goodbye and enjoy your day!" I mean, it's hilarious when you hear it. She sounds like a newscaster for crime scenes. I don't know. I just think it's funny.
