Spring

I walked through the large grassy field that was filled with flowers, my hands combing through the lush grass as I walked by. This place I was in... it was different. As I kept walking it started to get hotter and I could feel the sun warm my skin - everything was moving so fast around me. I glanced at the trees and noticed the leaves all turning, fading from bright yellow to crimson red to brown and starting to fall; autumn, my favourite.

But then it started to get cold. I rubbed my hands together. Everything started to freeze over, frost engulfing the fallen leaves. This was moving too fast. I started to shake. The grass was all frozen now and the cold was spreading to me, twisting up my boots, round my legs, up and up. I felt immense pain as my hands started to turn blue, and my body stiffened, the cold crystals wound their way over my face as they held me in place. I couldn't move. I could barely breathe. I screamed. "ISABELLE!" I heard my name in the distance... I started to collapse when I heard my name being called again... I was strangely warm as I lay on the ground, even though I still couldn't move because my body was so numb...

I jolted awake and clumsily fell out of my bed. "Get down here!" My mother yelled from downstairs. I stayed sprawled on the ground for a few seconds before quickly checking my hands, I sighed in relief when I saw they weren't the deadly blue I'd seen in my dream. My mother called me again, threatening to 'come and get me'. I groaned and got up.

Picture a dying seal that is extremely sleep deprived being forced to leave her bedroom at 7AM IN THE MORNING. That dying seal is me. Belle Walker. I dragged my body down the stairs and sighed dramatically when my parents faces came into view. Ugh! I almost fell on the last step of the stairs but composed myself somehow as I staggered into the room. My mother gave me a disapproving look as she stared at my stained sweater and my joggers, but then just sighed and looked back up. She was unfortunately used to this. I lazily walked to the side of the room and spread myself over the couch.

"Belle." she rolled her eyes at me.

"Mother." I smiled sweetly before turning to my dad, "What is it the mothership wants now?" I heard my mother grunt to the side of me but continued to face him. My dad tried to hide his chuckle but failed, "Um, honey, we have some... good news to tell you." My dad smiled uneasily before turning to my mother for help, but she simply glared at him to finish explaining, "We're sending you to high school."

I sat up, "WHAT."

My mother smiled wickedly before patting my shoulder. "Don't you worry, Isabelle. You'll love it."

And this, my friends, is where my mother was wrong. So very, very wrong.

One thing led to another and later that very morning I found myself packing my bag for high school. It was one thing to send me to hell, but I couldn't believe they kept it from me til the morning before. "Jesus Christy, this is a nightmare already." Home schooling didn't usually require an early morning so this was new, and to be honest I wasn't too fond of it. I put on some jeans and a hoodie and went downstairs, completely ignoring my mother who tried to kiss me goodbye as I left the house. No way, Jose. She was sending me to this hellhole. She could go kiss a cactus.

So that's what brings me here; St. Splunkins' School for Special Sprouts - the most prestigious school in the area.  I felt betrayed - how could my parents do this to me?! I have no idea how to socialise with these people - I only know two people  (excluding the boys on Hot Guy Dating Simulator III - Extended Edition. My Baes. My Baes.) - and even they're a handful. AND they're my parents.
