Overwatch: Divided we fall

Chapter one

I wake to my alarm in a fit of stress,panic, and sweat. Bad dreams again. With what's going to happen I don't think it's too silly to have bad dreams. I got up out of bed and cleaned myself up in the bathroom. I looked in the mirror and swiped my jet black hair to the side. Walking out, I grab my long black coat with red collars from the dark oak wardrobe and stuff it in my rucksack. Just in case. I shove a pair of black jeans on as well as a short sleeved plain black top, then I slipped my black leather watch around my wrist.

"Damn" I say to myself looking at my watch, realising that I'm late for breakfast.

Closing my eyes and concentrating immensely I manage to teleport to the mess hall. Slightly staggered from the teleport, I stand still for a second. Getting my bearings. I see McCree, tracer, and Genji sitting on a table together on the other end of the room. Jesse beckons for me to go towards him, so I do. Without a second thought I immediately teleport to the table, and sit next to Genji, opposite Lena and Jesse. Jesse and Genji were my best friends, we were always together on missions and I've lost count of how many times I've saved their lives and how many times they'd saved mine. Gabe was different, he was like a father figure to me, and I'm pretty sure he was to Angela, Jesse, Genji, Lena, and probably others to. I'm close to Lena as well, but I've never worked with her. I'm blackwatch after all, not overwatch.

"Hey guys" I said as they all looked a bit startled. I immediately noticed no one was eating, it was normal for Genji but not for Jesse and Lena.

Lena let out a weak smile, McCree tipped his hat, and Genji gave a small nod. Something's happened, I could tell.

"Jack and Gabe have been at it again" Jesse said lighting a cigar and popping it in his mouth," word has it Blackwatch members and overwatch members are getting ready for war. I suggest we do the same.".

This made Genji, myself, and even Lena look up in surprise.

"I thought you were leaving as soon as it kicked off" I said slightly confused.

"I did Jim, I did" he replied, taking a long pause before he said his next words," but Gabes like a father to me. And I ain't leaving him.".

I couldn't disagree, although I can't speak for Lena and Genji.

"Agreed" Genji said a few seconds later. This put a pretty surprised look on Lena's face.

She looked hesitant for a second before saying," What about Jack? He's just as much of a father figure as Gabe is.".

I give her an understanding look, she worked with Jack a hell of a lot, much more than Gabe. But by the looks of it she liked them both.

McCree stood up from his seat and threw his cigar to the floor, immediately stamping on it.

"It's up to you Lena" He smiled " I like Jack a lot to, but I just can't leave Gabe in a time like this. So I sure as hell know what side I'm on.".

"Agreed" Genji replied, and I did the same shortly after. Lena looked to floor with a saddened face, I could tell whose side she'd pick.

Jesse and I went to try and find Gabe to talk to him about the plan, whilst Genji went to meditate before the battle, in case it came that is. I was daydreaming in all honesty as I walked next to him, but Jesse was concentrating. He's usually pretty chilled out and playful but not today. And who could blame him?

"There" he informed me, pointing his metal finger at Gabe who was talking to some other blackwatch members in the corner of the corridor. I heard mumbles but nothing more, I expect Jesse did the same.

"Hey" you said approaching Gabe. Jesse gave you a really look.

Jesse sighed," We've come to tell you that Jim, Genji, and myself are on your side. No matter what.".

Gabe beamed," Thank you" he said genuinely.

Jesse tipped his hat with a slight smile and I shook his hand.

"If your sure about this" Gabe said slowly and somewhat nervously," Suit up, its happening today. I can tell.".
