Paper Plane #167,092 | three years later

Logan is at the kitchen table going through the mail. He looks tired. He really should take a nap, but Logan is the kind of guy who does not do naps. Period, end of discussion.

I hold the pregancy test in my hands, not entirely sure if I should tell him yet. Instead a wonderful idea pops into my head. I run pack into our room and pull out a piece of paper from the desk. Folding the sides evenly, I make a paper plane. Inside I write, Paper plane goes whoosh! - a quote from a future dad.

I wonder if it will click in his head. Might as well try. I tip toe behind him, and then wrap my arms around his large, well built self.

"Hello," I whisper into his ear. "Tired?"

"Yeah," he replies, rubbing the face he has not shaved.

I let the paper plane fall down in front of him. He smiles and opens it. I watch as his face shifts from happy to confused to...something I can't read.

"I-wait," he looks at it again. "Why does it say 'future dad'? I said this when we were like sophmores in college."

"Juniors," I correct him. Then I take the pregnancy test out of my pocket, placing it on the table.

"Tess, I don't understand what that says! It's like a shape."

I smirk, knowing any second now a little light bulb will go off in that brain of his.

He scratches his head, still clueless. "Wait. Wait. Oh my god, are you...are we..."

"Pregnant? Yeah!"

He smiles that smile of his that's so big, I always fear his face will pop. "Are you serious or are you trying to aggravate me?"

"I'm serious!"

"I'm gonna be a dad!" Logan yells, excitedly. "We're gonna be parents!"

Logan lets out a little scream and picks me up into the air. Before we know it, we're both on the floor crying and laughing at the same time.

"Wait is it a boy or a girl?"

I cover my face with my hands. This boy... "Logan, I literally just found out I'm pregnant today. It takes some time."

"Oh."

We lay on the ground silent for awhile. Logan sits up suddenly. He has an idea for sure.

"What are we doing?! We need to go celebrate! I'm going to go take a shower, and we...we are going to go out for dinner! Let's go, we're having a baby, and this entire apartment complex is going to hear about it."

I giggle. As I push myself from off the floor, something hits me. Not literally, but in my mind. It's times like these that I remember why I said yes when he proposed. Because nothing would be right, nothing wouldn't be the same if Logan wasn't right by my side.
