Chapter 1: Baby, Beach and Boyce Avenue

“Aw she looks so cute!” I cooed as I watched Darcy scoot forward in her new mini convertible.

No, this isn’t 15 years on from the last time I spoke to you and no, Darcy hasn’t got her driving license.

Louise, Matt and Darcy had come to stay over my house for the weekend just before Darcy’s 3rd birthday. Alfie and I had bought her a toy car that actually drove around. Oh yeah, I managed to finally move out of my Dad’s house and get my own! Conveniently by the seaside. of course, when I announced I was moving to Brighton all the viewer’s thought Alfie and I were buying an apartment and living together. Yes, I did move down here to be closer to Alfie, but Marcus, Niomi and Chai were also here. It was a nice coastal location to live and had great- okay, okay. It was pretty much just for Alfie.

Since I now had my own place I was finally able to get GUINEA PIGS! That’s right, I now own two guinea pigs; Pippin and Percy.  My life was pretty good at the moment!

“Darcy! Darcy, careful!” Matt cautioned, swiftly stopping the car from crashing into my white, pristine walls.

“Maybe we should let Zoe show you how to do it properly?” Louise suggested to Darcy.

“Oh, no. I’m not gonna fit in that!” I insisted, lying through my teeth. I fit in it perfectly this morning when I was driving it around the sitting room…

Darcy stepped out of the car and insisted “Zoe in car!”

“Okay, okay!” I sighed

I plonked myself in while Alfie got his camera out and started vlogging me. I started driving around, instructing Darcy how she should do it.

Daym, I wish I had one of these myself, it’s so fun!

Oh wait…I do. It’s called a car, Zoe. Well done.

“I wanna go!” Alfie whined.

“No!” Louise gasped “You’ll break it!”

“Why don’t we go to the restaurant now? Our booking is in…” I glanced at my watch “5 minutes ago.”

Alfie and I quickly exchanged a look then started scrambling to find our things to get out the door as swiftly as possible.

Louise put Darcy in the pushchair, she seemed sleepy already which was good as she wouldn’t have the energy to be ‘mischievous’ at the restaurant. Darcy…not Louise.

After lunch we had popped back to my house and dropped our things off and had gotten Darcy’s car. She was now in it riding along the sea front. The rest of us had ice-creams in our hand, Matt had two claiming ‘I need to hold it, you need to concentrate on the road!’ However, I saw those sneaky little licks he stole of Darcy’s ice-cream…

“Darcy, do you like the beach?” I asked her, while she was twisting and turning the wheel of the car.

“Darcy like!” she exclaimed happily.

I fell back into pace with Louise “So what have you got planned soon?”

After Playlist live we had attended recently in Orlando, Florida, Louise had become closer with another group of youtubers. Ben Cook, Jack Howard, Tomska. I was glad she was making other friends in the community too…

I mean, sure I got along with them but I don’t know, I guess I just didn’t feel properly accepted in the group. Of course, as all this was documented on many vlogs, rumors had been circulating that Louise and I weren’t “best friends” anymore. It was ridiculous, right? We would never trade eachother for different youtubers!

“Jack’s coming over for a few days. Jack, y’now, Jack Howard?” Louise turned to me.

“Yup, I knew him.” I confirmed.

“Well, It completely went through my mind that although we are such good friends, he still hasn’t met Darcy! So he’s coming over for a few days to meet her and Matt, film some videos and have some fun days out!” She informed me.

“Sounds good!” I shot a quick smile back.

“What about you?” Louise asked me.

“Oh well y’now, just keeping busy with the new house and everything. I met this girl Hannah Maggs. I found her channel a few months ago now but we started talking a lot online and got to know eachother really well. It’s amazing, we’re just on the same wavelength so I invited her over on Tuesday and we went to the beach. She has the most adorable son, Grayson! We tried introducing Pippin and Percy to him, it was so funny!” I laughed to myself, remembering his little face trying to stroke the guinea pigs.

“Oh! Well it sounds like you’ve been a busy bee!” Louise chuckled.

I was about to reply but Alfie slowed to a stop and started walking at the same pace as me, taking my hand in his.

“Did you get your ticket arrive for the Boyce Avenue concert yet?” he questioned.

“Yes actually! It came yesterday morning in the post, did the VIP lanyard come with yours?” I swung Alfie and I’s hand back and forth between us.

“No, but it comes the day after in the post.” I squeezed my hand.

“What’s this?” Louise brought my attention back to her, a quizzical look on her face.

“Oh, me, Zoe, Chai and Holly got invited to go to their concert at Brighton Centre. We’ve met the boys once before so it should be great to catch up!” Alfie had a smile on his face as he replied.

“Oh! Well, have fun!”

Matt and Darcy slowed down and came to walk with us, Louise glanced at her watch and sigh “We should probably think about leaving soon to get back before dark.”

It sucked Louise lived hours away, it wasn’t too far to never see each other but far enough it became slightly expensive for petrol and an annoying drive to get down there.

“Turn around kiddo!” I smiled at Darcy as she attempted to turn her little car round.

“Thanks for coming to stay!” I waved as Louise, Matt and Darcy neared their car.

“Thank you for having us!” Louise called.

“See you soon!” Matt smiled, getting in the driver’s side.

“Love woo Zoe!” Darcy called, then brought her thumb to her mouth and started sucking it, cuddling her blanket.

“Skype you soon!” Louise waved again as she got in the car.

The car sped off and I was left standing alone outside my house, Alfie had gone back to his own apartment to get on with some editing just before the Pentlands left.

“Bye.” I muttered, making my way upstairs.

A/N: Sorry it’s taken a while to get this up but I need to do nothing but revise for my GCSE exams as they are only a matter of weeks away.
