Prologue

As a child, I'll do everything for my passion to make my parents proud. I love them as much as I love myself. I can't see why people hate them so much.

Not until I saw the news.

Massacres, corruption, and bad governance lead by my family, Castro, is broadcasting right now in international news. My eyes are full of them. I saw how people barely survive in massacra and remember how my parents got a lot of money saying it is for my future, and how the government is now a chaos because they abide the law and get away with it just like nothing.

Now, at the age of 12, I realized what my parents' wrongdoings. But, the love I have for them is still the same, acting like there's nothing happened.

Mom:
Hindi kami makakauwi ng Dad mo. There's an urgent meeting for us with Solomon. Tell your yaya to take care of you for the rest of this week.

Kinagat ko ang ibabang labi ko at huminga nang malalim. Pumasok ako sa restroom then I got in the cubicle. Narinig ko na lang na may pumasok and I don't mind naman but what I heard made my heart shattered.

"Did you hear about the rumors ba? Na nandito 'yung anak ng isang corrupt?" I heard someone gossiping. I know it's about me.

"I mean her great great grandmother was a dictator so I wouldn't be shocked if her moral principles are devastating." Sabi naman ng isa.

"It reflects her attitude." Yung isang babae naman ay tumawa. "Hindi ko pa nakikilala, alam mo nang mabaho ang ugali." Sabi niya pa.

Napayuko nalang ako habang nakaupo sa toilet bowl. Hindi ako makagalaw sa narinig ko. I am a grade 12 ABM student in a state university because I can't enroll in somewhere prestigious just to hide my identity, it's my decision so I should know the consequences.

Gusto ko man ipaglaban ang sarili ko, baka kumalat na naman sa media and magalit sa akin si Mom and Dad. Nang marinig ko na nakalabas na sila, agad ako tumayo at inayos ang aking sarili.
