The ship entered the American based Harbor at around four in the morning.

He had been so young, it seemed to have been almost an eternity ago now.

He couldn't remember the name of the harbour or the ship which had brought their small family from England to the new land.

Men, women and children. Puritans and pilgrims fleeing the new English ruler, the perfect time for their family to flee to a place no one would find them.

He missed his friends already. He wished they hadn't had to leave everyone behind.

He didn't even get to say goodbye to Elizabeth or Charles.

"Come Anthony. Don't dawdle."

His mother's stern voice cut through the brisk air, he hurried along to her side and she led him through the swirling crowd until they reached the carriage his father had just bought.

He didn't want to leave the ship or the busy harbour. He didn't want to go to the deserted little town his parents had described.

A part of Anthony's young mind wanted him to turn around and run back into the ship but he knew he had no chance of being fast enough to escape his parents.

A pair of large black horses stood harnessed to it, Anthony took a moment to admire them before boarding the carriage with his mother whilst his father took to the seat.

He named the horses Midnight and Sofia after the ones he had ridden back in England.

A small comfort for the long journey ahead.

A journey that took them through tiny villages where the local children stood and waved to him as he leaned out the back of the carriage.

He wanted to get out and play with them, he wanted to make new friends.

His mother wouldn't let him.

Eventually they reached the place he would call home.

A deserted forest nicknamed 'Outcasts ridge'.

He didn't want to live here...he didn't have a choice.
