Stephen King wrote in 1970 "The Gunslinger", (the first book in the fantasy/western saga), that was called "The Dark Tower".
With the success of "Carrie", (written in 1973), King's book published in April of 1974, was the beginning of his career.
In 1975, King published his version of 'Dracula', (1897). It was called 'Salem's Lot'. A tale of Vampires that starred David Soul, (August 28, 1943-); and Sir James Mason, (15 May 1909 – 27 July 1984). Mason would act in Kubrick's debut UK movie, the controversial drama "Lolita", in 1962, that starred Sue Lyon, (July 10, 1946-), based on the 1955 novel by Vladimir Nabokov, 22 April [O.S. 10 April] 1899c – 2 July 1977), which wouldn't be made in America because of its tale of underage sexual desire...and transgressive behavior, that also starred Peter Sellers, (8 September 1925 – 24 July 1980).
