I lay in the darkness, listening to the alarm clock ticking. It had been one of the worst days yet. No-one accepted me, no-one cared, and the internet community of those like me was so far away....maybe it wasn't even true. Maybe the only thing I was was a burden, a disease, something that needs to be cured. Maybe the charity that told my parents this was correct.

Suddenly, the window rattled. I jumped and looked out: an African woman of about 20 years old stood in the window. She had a poofy afro and twinkling eyes. The stranger did a motion for me to come to her.

I opened the window nervously. She didn't look like a thief anyway, at least not like the ones in my old kiddie picture book about people and jobs.

"Hey, are you," she looked at a piece of paper in her lap, "Jenny Alsace?"

"Mhm..." I mumbled.

"Ok Jenny, you're coming with us.I'm Joely.  Welcome to the CCTA!" The woman pulled me out of the window and set me down on a seat inside a weird room. Only later I realised...it was a helicopter.
