Chapter 1: What they dont know

                7 years ago, the president made a speech that won the country over:
            "The beautiful children of our country shouldn't not be put through the process of going to one family to another. Just think about how they may feel. They may be out the risk of many things. There are abusive parents, hurtful siblings, and they may be left neglected. Who knows what will happen. Do you believe we should allow the children of our country through this?"
         After he won the election, all adoption centers were forced to be closed. The children would have to be kicked into the street and start lives of their own. But Ms. Hampton couldn't let the kids go on their own. Ms. Hampton would call them all her kids but they wouldn't believe her. So, Ms. Hampton told the children to listen to what she said to do, she did all this without having the heart to tell the children that they wouldn't be adopted ever. She just couldn't do it. All the kids lived like is was 7 years ago. They prayed each night and they'd get excited when they'd see a person pass by.
         Everyone but Eden. Eden would sneak into Ms. Hamptons bedroom when it would e empty and watch the news. She was updated on what was going on in the world and memorized the presidents speeches. She kept quiet about all the news. She deep down wanted to vote for him, but knew she couldn't. Until the president made a speech. Once he said this sentence Eden's attitude changed for the worse.
