He walked to school alone, ate alone, went to the park alone and even lived alone.

Max had a loving family. 'Had' being the key word.

His mother was a stay at home mom with three kids, Max being the youngest.

His father was a drug dealer and was arrested 4 times since Max was born.

His siblings were twins at the age of 16. Both were successful in life and were the obvious favourites.

Max was ten. He couldn't get a job, he didn't bring money into the house. You'd expect that from a ten year old.

Not his parents.

They hated how he didn't do anything job-wise so they left.

They moved across the country and left Max alone in their old home.

Imagine that for a minute.

Being a ten year old boy with no family to feed him. A life without purpose.

The only thing that kept him going was the dream of going to Camp Campbell.

It had endless possibilities. And no that's not hyperbole.

I have to stop with the references...

He could pick one and go so he could be happy.

It was cheap and the kids on the pamphlet seemed happy.

But fate had other than plans...
