Chapter 4: Xavier

          "Hey, is Xavier here?" asked a familiar voice. My eyes widened. Will wasn't joking. Narissa! My sat up as quickly as possible, but my head sacked into the upper bung.

          "Ow," I grumbled, rubbing my head. Narissa went to my side.

          "You okay?" she asked. I nodded. Everyone began laughing again. One of my half sisters, Nina, was laughing so hard that she was on the floor, tears in her eyes. "What's so funny?" hat only made everyone laugh more. My half brother, Tristen, walked up to Narissa, still laughing a bit.

          "Before you were here, Will said you were coming and Xavier-" I cut him off by throwing a pillow at his face. He stoped, but was laughing so hard.

          "Let's go," I said, taking her hand and running out the door. When we were a good ten feet away, Narissa and I began walking. We reached the camp fire and sat next to each other. Chiron stomped his hooves.

          "Glad you could all make it tonight," he said. Chiron went on and on about some other stuff I didn't bother to listen to. But he finally said something that caught my attention. "There will be performance tonight, by one of our campers. Please give a hand for Alex Briar!" Applauding went around the camp fire. I was curious of what Alex was going to perform. He came out with a black tuxedo, holding a guitar. Alex cleared his throat and began to sing.

    "Shut the door, turn the light off.

    I want to be with you, I want to feel your love.

    I want to lay beside you, I cannot hide this, even though I try.

    Heart beats harder, time escapes me.

    Trembling hands touch skin, it makes this hard girl.

          Alex went on with the song, Moments by One Direction. He kept smiling at Narissa as he sang. I watched as she turned bright red and smiled. I felt my jealousy grow rapidly. I stared at the ground until he was finished. Alex bowed and walked to Narissa. He sat at her left side, me at her right.

          "You've improved with your singing, ya know," said Narissa, still a hint of her blushing.

          "Thank you," said Alex. "You know, I was singing that to someone special." I watched them talking, not bothering to speak up.  

          "Really? Who? Is it a human or demigod?" Narissa seemed a bit curious. There was a bit of jealousy in her words.

          "Yes, really. And it's a demigod. She's smart, beautiful, funny, and an amazing friend." Just as Alex said that, he pulled out a red rose and handed it to Narissa. She blushed as she took it into her hands.

          "Thank you," said Narissa, smiling and blushing. Alex caressed her face. He began to lean in, but Chiron stomped his hooves again.

          "Alright, everyone, it is almost curfew. Got to bed, and sleep well," said Chiron. Alex smiled and shook his head.

          "Uh, I-I should go back to my cabin. Bye, Alex, and thank you for the rose," said Narissa, getting up and walking. "And thank you for the song," she mumbled, smiling. I chased after her and we walked to her cabin. I stopped at the front of the door.

          "Well, that was our first day at Camp Half-Blood," I said with a sigh. She nodded and smiled.

          "Yeah. And it was a really good day. Especially hanging out with you," Narissa said. I smiled and before I knew what I was doing, I kissed her cheek. I saw Narissa's face turn bright red, the color of a cherry.

          "Good night, and sweet dreams," I said before walking back to my cabin. I smiled from ear to ear at my accomplishment. I got ready for bed and crawled under my covers. I still had a smile on my face. As I closed my eyes, I thought to myself. Beat that, Alex.
