---Chapter 3---

Narissa's Pov

I went back into my room, happiness overcoming me. Just talking to him made my stomach twist with butterflies. I smiled contently before laying down in bed. I closed my eyes as Xavier filled my thoughts. But then...

----------Narissa's Dream----------

I was sitting on the roof again. It was dark out, probably midnight or so. I felt someone sitting next to me. He was smiling at me, staring deeply into my eyes, making my stomach twist. I felt my face grow hot. He took my hands into his, making me melt.

"Rissa," he said, sending chills down my spine. "Look, I know that we were friends, well, best friends, but I don't feel that way anymore. I know, we're only thirteen, but I-" he paused for a moment to take a deep breath. "I like you. A lot." My eyes widened. His face changed from nervous to upset. "You don't like me back," he whispered, releasing my hands.

"I-I never said that," I said, causing him to smile. I smiled, too. But why? Just then, he began to lean down. I felt our lips touch, causing sparks to fly. He pulled me closer, causing my heart to race a billion times fast. I thought I didn't like him anymore! But I couldn't help but kiss him back. My fingers found their way into his windblown, slightly curled, brown hair. I couldn't believe what I was doing. This was the guy I had a crush on a year ago. I was kissing my childhood best friend. Alex Briar.

Suddenly, everything changed. I was now standing in a white room, as in, everything white. There was a white couch and a coffee table, with cups and cookies. I stood there, unsure of what to do. An angelic voice came from the couch.

"Please, sit, my dear," said a woman in a long, brown dress appeared, sitting on the couch with a bright smile on her face. I did as she said and sat next at the other end. She smiled at me at pulled my face up to her so that she could see my eyes. I watched as a tear rolled down her face.

"Ma'am, a-are you alright?" I asked. I still didn't know who she was. The woman cleared her throat and nodded.

"I forgot to introduce myself. Narissa," she said, taking my hands into her's. "I'm Kristina , goddess of demigods." I sat there, shocked. What was I suppose to do? Be happy to finally meet my mom, or mad because she left Dad? Mom broke down into tears. I did what I least expected. I broke down as well. Tears streamed down my face as we hugged. I couldn't help but think, 'Why did she leave Dad?' As if she read my mind, Mom tried t o stop crying and explained. "Hun, I didn't want to. I'm a goddess, though, so I was forced to. I wanted to stay so badly. I didn't want to leave your father, especially since you were born." She began to tear up. "But at least I get to finally see you." I had a billion questions for Mom, I didn't know where to start. So instead of asking questions, Mom explained everything. About how she and Dad fell in love, who my grandmother is (Gaea), how she became a goddess, and how Dad turned down becoming a god.

"Why did Dad turn down becoming a god? Didn't he love you?" I asked, no longer crying.

"He did, and I knew it. But your father said that he didn't want to be a god, that gods and goddesses was my life, not his. He didn't want to be a god, but still wanted to be with me. I just had to take their offer. It was like a voice inside my head saying that I needed to become a goddess, like it was my destiny," explained Mom.I nodded and she asked me the most bizarre thing someone can ask you when you first meet them. "So, who was that boy in your dreams?" Mom asked with a glint in her eyes. I could just feel myself blush like crazy.
