As soon as I got home and came to my senses I tell myself, “What did I just do? I can't believe that just happened, he’s way out of my league and I barely know him.” I take a deep breathe and think. “Well I already accepted, so there's no backing out now. I´ve got to get ready.” I look in my closet and find a nice shirt and jeans to wear. After I put it on I take a look in the mirror. It was a simple outfit that didn’t make it look like I didn’t try enough or I’m trying too hard. A red harry potter t-shirt and some black jeans. And a pair of black high-top vans. I decided to leave my hair down.

Then I received a text message from Carlos saying he was outside. I hurried out the door to be greeted by Carlos leaning on his car. I had to admit he was charming without even trying. He was dressed in a blue t-shirt, black jogger pants, and some maroon vans. His dark brown hair was combed to the front. “You ready?”

“yeah.”

He then opens the passenger door for me.

I say with a smile, “Thank you.” He has huge grin on his face when I say it. He then gets in on the driver's side, and just before we were about to drive off he says, “Do you want to listen to some music?” I nod in agreement and then he turns on the car radio.

On our way to the movies I ask, “So what movie are we watching?”

“Beauty and the beast.”

“Oh, I’ve been wanting to watch that, seeing the characters come to life will be so amazing.”

“I knew you would like it since you love reading romance novels.”

I smile shyly. “You’ve paid attention?”

“Well, I’ve noticed it here and there and you’re the first one that comes to mind who would appreciate a movie like beauty and the beast.”

“Well someone did their research.” When I say that he laughs a little and begins to blush a bit.

We finally make it to the movie theater, get popcorn and head to our seats. We got there a bit early and are watching the previews before the movie. We both joke about them and say which ones we would want to see. During the movie when the romantic parts came on I would smile so much and get just a bit closer to Carlos. Which I realized he would get closer too. I wonder if in those moments he felt as gushy and warm inside as I did. When the movie was over we headed over to a nearby dairy queen. Once we were seated with our ice-cream I just had to talk about the movie. In my opinion the movie made me swim in my emotions of warm affection, almost in a dream state. “Sometimes I wish I could be in a movie and end up with the man of my dreams.” *sighs*

“Why can’t it be?”

“What do you mean?”

“I mean, why can’t your life be like a movie, real life is more than capable of happy endings which are also just happy beginnings.”

“Huh, I never thought of it that way, interesting.” Now my mind wanders off in search of ideas that would happen in real life, but I’m cut short when Carlos brings me back to reality.

“Hello, earth to Maria.”

“Oh sorry, got caught up in my own world for a second there,” giving a nervous smile and laugh. He also gives an amusing laugh.

“So you really liked the movie?”

“Oh yes, very much.”

“That’s good. So what do you like to do for fun?”

“For fun, well… there really isn’t much besides reading, honestly I spend most of my time reading.”

“You don’t go out with friends? Or do anything other than read?”

“No, not really, is that a bad thing?”

“No, not at all, but maybe would you be interested in going to a pool party at my place, it’ll just be me and a few other friends, what do you say?”

All the alarms in my head are going off at this moment, first he asks me to watch a movie with him, and now he’s asking if I’ll go to a party at his house?! It takes a moment to compose myself and ask, “And exactly who of your friends are going?”

“It’ll be Antonio and Nick.”

“Wait, so you’re trying to tell me that you want to have a party at your house with you and me and two other guys? I don’t know that sounds kind of sketchy.”

“Uh, well I didn’t think of it that way, it seemed like a good idea in my head, but said out loud makes it sound weird,” he said nervously. “Well you could invite some of your friends so it doesn’t seem so sketchy.”

Thinking it over I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to get back at Ashley. “Would it be alright if I invite my best friend Ashley?”

“Of course.”

After that little chat he dropped me back off at my house and I was left with my thoughts once again. Sometimes I wonder if recently I’ve been doing anything right. I’ve been doing stuff that I normally don’t do like how I’ve been hanging out with a guy outside of school and now I’m going to a party at his house. What is wrong with me, maybe if I sleep things over I’ll think things more clearly.
