I was the kind of girl that made better friends with guys than girls. Never really the really girly type, but if I had to I would wear a dress.

At school, there was a huge group project coming up in Biology and the teacher was choosing the groups. I was stuck with three guys. I wasn't too sure how that was going to turn out. The three guys were Carlos, Nick, and Antonio. I thought it would be okay since I didn't get saddled with any girls that might give up after they gave an idea and say they helped with the project.

The first thing the teacher had us do was exchange numbers so we could keep contact with our group members. The funny thing was that I had classes with all three of them. I had Carlos in Algebra, Nick in English, and Antonio in Computer coding. Each of them had their strong points in those classes. I´ve been in the same class with them before, but never really talked to them. They probably don't even know who I am.

As soon as we got settled I got right to the point and asked, “So do you guys have any ideas of what kind of project you guys want to do?” The teacher told us to create a project that could be tested and proven. In other words it was like a science fair project. I love doing these kind of projects because you get to test your hypothesis and prove it right (plus it’s fun proving that you’re right to other people).

“What if we do something that involves building and maybe test how it functions,” suggested Antonio.

“If we build something, could we make like a car or a rocket, or anything along those lines, I just want it to go super fast.” exclaimed Carlos.

“That sounds like a great idea, what about you Nick?” I asked.

“I don't know, I really don't get it when it comes to these kind of projects.”

“Oh, it´ll be fun. Don't you want to create something and see it do something awesome?”

“I guess…”

I was kind of surprised by Nick´s reaction because I’ve noticed in English he´s usually excited about projects, but I wonder what makes this one any different. At least I got the other two to pitch in, but Nick kind of worries me. There must be something holding him back. I decided to put it off for now, but maybe later he'll open up about what’s bothering him.

Meanwhile, we decided we would make a car with boosters and test whether or not different boosters affected the speed of the car. By the time we figured out what the project would be it was the end of class.

After gym class I had lunch and sat with all my friends. As usual I ate my lunch while listening to my friends go on about the interesting things that go on in their lives, I wasn't really paying attention. That was until my best friend Ashley asked me, “What about you Maria?”

“What do you mean, what about me?”

“I mean who did you end up with for the big project in biology?”

“Oh, you mean that, well… I got put with Nick, Carlos, and Antonio.”

She gave me a really shocked look and it seemed like I grabbed everyone else's attention too.

“What?” I must have been really dumb if everyone was looking at me with their peeked interest that I knew not of.

“What do you mean what? The three guys you just said are the hottest guys in our grade.”

“So?”

“Sooo… that means that you should get to know them better.”

“But why?”
