The Nocturna Animalia and the Custodes de Lumine were not always enemies. Just as night and day cannot exist without each other, they were dependant on one another. The Custodes de Lumine, the keepers of the light, guarded Glacia during the day, and guided the Sun in it‘s path across the sky. When the Sun set, the Nocturna Animalia took over.

The creatures of the night guarded Glacia against evils from the outside. You could see them walking through the night, identical to the other animals that roamed Glacia, but for one detail. They were pitch black, with great silver eyes.

The Custodes decided something had to be done. They tried to reason with the Nocturna, but they would not listen. They said that the people had caused this, not them. They even went as far as to blame the Custodes, saying they had planted the fear of darkness in the brains of children.

The Custodes wished for Glacia to be in balance, but they were also proud. This insult convinced them that the Nocturna were corrupted, and could not be reasoned with. Thus Glacia was one step closer to obliteration.

That was when the first Videns Mentium came to Glacia. A Videns Mentium, a seer of minds, was the stuff of legends. The stories told of these humans with extraordinary power, with the ability to stop great wars...
