I don't know when I came back into reality. It was a slow and painful process. My head ached. The first thing I noticed as I opened my crusty heavy eyes was the blinding white ceiling.

As I let out a long breath I opened them a bit more and rubbed my eyes with my hands. Everything was stiff and sore. I felt like I hadn't moved in years. Even lifting my arms made my stomach churn with discomfort.

That was another thing. My stomach. It ached with hunger. I needed something to eat or I felt like I'd pass out again. Food wasn't my first priority though. I had no idea where I was or why.

I was looking around to be find that my surrounding was a white room with a white dresser and a white bed I was sitting on. The curtains were black.

My feet swung over the bed and I attempted to stand. Attempted was the key word there. I fell flat on the floor as they gave out. A firey shot of pain went through my jaw as my chin collided with the ground.

My mouth tried to open in a protesting shriek, but it wouldn't open.

I scrambled back to my feet quickly. I felt my mouth with my fingers. My lips could easy part like usually. My teeth were almost cemented together. It felt like a brace of some sort. I panicked. I couldn't speak or eat. I tried to pry it open but pain shot through me and I gave up after.

I felt around more around the brace gently and sighed. I noticed a mirror across the room.

In this mirror I cuaght a glimpse of myself. I was in a long white gown. My eyes were still droopy from all the sleep. My hair was the way I last remember. The only thing that stood out was the metal brace across my teeth. The rest of my jaw was secured with a bandage that went around my jaw to my head. There was now a thin trail of blood flowing down my chin from tugging on the brace.

I went across the room to open the door out. My eyes stung at all the new colors outside my room. The rug on the floor was filled with colorful swirls and other desgins. I took a long blink that when I returned from, my eyes felt a bit better.

At this point I don't think my mind had grasped exactly where I was. Reality was slowly pushing on my brain, but I pushed it back.

I wasn't sure exactly where to go. The hall was big and empty. The sound of someone turning the door knob startled me and I stepped back into my room quickly. The door shut a bit louder then I had intended. I held my breath.

Too late. Someone knocked on the door in a quiet manner. I wished I'd never opened the door in the first place. I wasn't sure if I should answer it or not. A few seconds past, maybe a minute. I dared look down. I could clearly make out the shoes against the door.

They were still there.

Whoever it was knocked again,a bit more firmly this time. If I could see there shoes,I know they could see mine.

I had to let my breath out. And that's what gave me away.
