A Familiar Face

The light flickered above Kiley in the dark, grimy tunnel as another train passed by that wasn’t hers. She sighed and stood on her toes in hopes of seeing another one coming. Instead she saw a familiar face watching her. She spun around and tried to push through the crowd, but no one budged.

“I’m so sorry,” a voice said behind her.

A scream caught in her throat as she faced him again.

He stared at the long jagged scar along her jaw. “I’m so sorry I did that to you,” he whispered before slipping back into the faceless mass.
