Just because you may hate what you've written doesn't mean it's bad. We all can be our worst hater.
Read in your genre, read outside of your genre, read bestsellers, read beginning efforst, just read and you will learn so much about storytelling and writing craft both.
Oddly enough, the best writing habit that works for me is.... reading! Yes, this sounds counterproductive, but it works. Read books that are similar to the types and genres you like, then take note of grammar, style, or structural habits you might adjust or use yourself. I know I learned most of my grammar knowledge and quotation habits from other books I liked!
Write, be patient, and enjoy writing as a journey, not a destination
Write, Write, Write - even if you are not inspired. Of course, it's better when you are inspired, but that doesn't always happen. So keep writing regardless, it's always better to have a sh*tty draft than no draft to edit on. Nothing is great the first time around. Even if it is, editing would make it a lot better.
