Benzedrine could hear someone's foot steps became louder from the other side of the door. His heart beated faster as he realized what he's about to face. Punishment for disobeying his father. But he'll accept it as gracefully as he can. His mother always said that a true man is the one who never run from his responsibilities. When the door swinged open, his breath skipped a second. So as Sandman.

Bennie? Come here. Asked his father with a smile on his face.

Benzedrine frowned but quickly do what his father told him too.

Bennie, this is Sandman's mother. Ma'am, this is Benzedrine, my only son. His father introduced them.

Benzedrine gulped and bowed a little.

H-how do you do, ma'am? Asked Benzedrine politely.

Sandman's mother chuckled.

I'm fine, young boy. In fact, I feel better than most of my days. And that's because of you.

Benzedrine flushed at her sudden compliment.

You see, i saw some connections between you and Sandman. This was his first connection ever toward other people other then his family. He's 15 now, and he didn't gave any single interest in a boy or a girl in his age. It started to scare me. Sandman's mother explained.

Benzedrine frowned even more, because he actually didn't understand a single word the she said.

Bennie, The Shadows family are always good and sensitive with supernatural and spirituall things. They believe that every people have a connection, wether if it's love, friendship, brotherhood, sisterhood, or anything at all. And it appears to be true. That's why i have you and your mother. The Doctor said, smiled at his son's readable expression.

Benzedrine started to know where this conversation will lead, but he's not quite sure.

S-so, you said that i love Sandman? Benzedrine replied blatantly.

Sandman's eyes widen. His hazel eyes eyeing at the shorter boy as his cheeks grew hot. His mother laughed again.

It could be boy, it really could be! But that's the exciting part is, you have to know that by getting to know Sandman better. And so as Sandman. She said, eyeing a little at her son.

Benzedrine nodded awkwardly.

Okay.

So here's what I'm going to tell you. Your father said that you have a pretty similar situation with Sandman. You don't really get a long with boys or girls at your age. Am I correct?

Benzedrine looked at his foot nervously.

Y-yes.

No no, it's quite alright if it's true. Nobody's perfect you know?

Benzedrine nodded silently.

Now, i want to ask you something. Is it okay if Sandman get attached with you? You know like a friend?

Sandman widen his eyes again.

Mother, i think that's a bit too much-

Hush, Sandy. His mother said, cutting his son's words.

Benzedrine turned his head at Sandman, and then back at the lady.

I don't mind at all, ma'am. I want to be friend with him. Benzedrine said, as he showed the lady his genuine smile.

The lady sighed relievedly.

Good, that's good news. Isn't it Doc?

The Doctor smiled and nodded. Indeed.

We'll do this just nice and slow, Benzedrine. Connection like yours and Sandman's are very fragile and can not be forced. Added Sandman's mother.

And again Benzedrine nodded.

Sandman, who seemed like disagree with his mother's decision, took a step forward.

Are you sure about this, mother? He asked, as he eyeing at the shorter boy worriedly.

I've never been so sure in my life, Sandy. His mother said.

Sandman sighed. Okay, let's see where this will go then.

Benzedrine's eyes sparkled as Sandman turned his head down at him and smiled.

I'm looking forward to meeting you again, Bennie. Sandman asked as he gave him his hand.

Benzedrine accepted it and shook it softly. He felt some kind of electric wave as soon as he touched Sandman's hand. But possibly because he's just too excited.

Me too. He smiled back.

Now, I'm afraid it's late don't you think Bennie? The Doctor asked, as he checked his watch.

Benzedrine awkwardly looked away from Sandman's whiskey eyes.

Y-yes, papa. He replied.

Good evening ma'am. Remember the medicine i gave you. The Doctor said again, as he tipped his hat to the lady.

Of course, Doctor. Thank you again. Sandman's mother smiled.

The Doctor just nodded politely.
Benzedrine grabbed his father's hand, and followed him. Just before they turned right to the stairs, he glanced at his back and stared at Sandman for the last time.

Papa, Sandman's family are so weird. Especially his father. He whispered carefully, as they walked down the stairs.

I know, but so are we. The Doctor chuckled.

But Sandman's really nice. I think we're going to be a really good friends.

We'll see Bennie, we'll see. He has a conditions, though.

Yes, I'm aware. He didn't like silence. I've read on your journal that there's indeed people like him, and I told him that. So he didn't feel weird.

The Doctor looked down at his son, as one of his eyebrow lifted a bit.

You read my journal? You really understand it? He asked.

Some of them. Benzedrine said casually.

The Doctor smirked.

Have you reached the part where I wrote about Bipolar Disorder?

Uh-huh. Benzedrine shook his head.

Well, you must read that part, because Sandman has another conditions. He smiled.

Benzedrine remain silent as questions lingered on his marrow about his father's word.
