It was a cold night in the Onowaku tribe, my snow-kissed skin glowing in the pale crescent moon. "Ananya!" the chief called from our village. Stepping down from the rocky edge of the cliff, I gather the hems of my dress and run down the steep hill.
Gathering me in his broad arms, he looks me closely in the eye. "You must not stay out so late my little snowflake, especially in the late hours of night". Nodding my head, I acknowledge to him I want to be put down, sulking toward my tent in disappointment.
Laying down onto the freshly picked weeds and grass, i rest my head as my eyes flutter into darkness.
For hours, I lay there in unconsciousness. But then, I get the slightest feeling of a wolf pelt brushing against my leg. "Wolf, a wolf!" I cried out into the night, sending the birds flying from their perches on the oak branches. The wolf suddenly came into view, its eyes as blue as the river that flow on our territory. As its gaze became deeper, I found serenity. The wolf faded into mist, and the surroundings followed. I aquinted my eyes to see the black of night and the crescent hanging above. Steadily the moon was covered by a glaze of blackness, and my head lay back down in comfort.
